The sun was setting. Summerdays in the Reach where long but midnight was drawing ever closer. Soon it would be dark, all but where the scurrying Tyrell servants had lit their oil-dipped torches. But for now the setting sun was painting the heavens in in a deep blood red and burning orange, as if the sky itself was on fire. And perhaps it was. Fire and Blood. Wherever you look, there it is.Not just this part, the whole post - but it was kind of long to repost the whole thing. An excellent post revealing the conflict inherent when personal relations and politics get muddied together. It's easy to compartmentalize the two, dealing with one or the other depending on the thread, but letting them both be ever-present and interfering with even unrelated activities... that's good role play.

And the third death (that we know of) of the war occurs. So far the fires have the advantage.

Poor Septa Tyane makes four dead.

true, so if we count her as a blood death that would be 3:1?
Not good odds if you looking to join the bloods...

Technically, she serves the Tyrells that leans fire.....though she's much more collateral damage. And Brackens also leans very much fire, but he was sacrificed by his own.
It's 1-1 in terms of people that likely would have served their sides well in the coming conflict.

IC: Hooray for Chivalry and all that! OOC: Blasted NPCs, I was relying on this match for one of the stronger NPCs to knock another out. Massive win on cool points though, this is the kind of incident that would fit right in to The Hedge Knight. Glad it got an evocative description to set alongside the tight rolls! Will have to adjust Roland's disposition towards Lord Tyrell for being magnanimous. Fellow PCs - as the NPCs aren't doing a good job of knocking high ranking characters out, I'm relying on you lot to poison/seduce/murder them, or rig matches so they best ones face each other! Still a few early rounds of chaff being weeded out, so hopefully one or two flukes that knock out strong NPCs.

No sooner asked for than done, an upset win: greatbastards.boards.net/post/5813/threadOrokos knew it was rolling for one of the Great Bastards and didn't want them to underperform in a story named for them!

Ser Donnel stands still for a long while, staring at his brother. "Confrontation with Lady Ashara? Who is Lady Ashara?" I have a feeling we won't remain unacquainted for much longer, good job keeping IC and OOC knowledge separate. Moreover, I truly enjoyed your post, indeed, most of the thread. The frustration, moments of anger, hope, and exasperation... capped with a sense of despair, maybe even hopelessness. Not a fun situation to be in, but you have role-played it well.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! I can thank my fellow PCs for creating the backdrop of the thread. Especially Balon has been great at creating tension this far!
We must arrange a meeting D5... It probably would be a good time when I meet Laena Pyre?

When life/orokos gives you lemons, make lemonade! greatbastards.boards.net/post/6685/threadLaena gets hit with a worse than 1 in 100 roll, but at least in doing so we learn something new about her in an excellent post.
