The most anticipated match of the day by far is Lord Leo Tyrell the host and local favorite against Ser Garth Redwyne of the Kingsguard, both are men that would progress far into the tournament, Lord Leo is considered the equal of Blackfyre and Breakspear, while Ser Garth might challenge any of those three men on a good day. Alas, fate has conspired to bring what might have been the final match of the tournament to the first round by the sharp and rash tongue of the Great Bastard Mya Rivers.
Lord Leo starts off to a round of cheers and applause as he applies his signature move of removing Ser Garth's helm, but the Kingsguard refuses to yield, perhaps in the knowledge that the longthorn is far too gallant to consider taking advantage of this fact. Round after round the clash, Ser Garth's undeniably pretty face becomes increasingly more bruised by the splinters from the shattered lances. Each knight breaks six lances before, finally, Ser Garth is brought out of balance and falls to the ground. Lord Leo declares that a knight of such valor, courage and skill should not be denied the right to prove himself further.
Ordinarily, Ser Garth would have been eliminated, but when Lord Tyrell, as the host, declares it a draw, then a draw it is.
