Now we've started the game proper, it feels right to have this thread available. It was one of my favourites in Dragon's Dance.
The idea is simple: if someone (and that includes Father, lest there be any doubt) posts something that impresses you, quote it here (which will automatically include a link to the post). Should this thing ramp up as much as DD did, it's likely not all of us will be able to read every post, and it would be a shame to miss out on some great RP.

I read every post of Dragonsdance, but throwing praise on people is still a good idea even so.

Saving for posterity - not an earth shattering moment, but sometimes these moments are the start of great story threads. Plus the IC post is excellent. Balon swallowed hard, looking around, desperate for help. Before anyone from his house can interject, in steps a most unlikely candidate to attempt to bail Ser Balon out of his predicament. Bread & Salt - Helping Balon - Awarenss (Empathy) TN12: 5d6k4 14 1 DoS Bread & Salt - Helping Balon - Cunning (Breeding) - TN12: 7d6k4 17 2 DoS Bread & Salt - Helping Balon - Deception (Charm) - TN12: 6d6k4+5 22 3 DoS Total: 6 DoS "When asked to describe the sky today," she begins, as she strides confidently out of the crowd, "who remembers to say that it is 'blue'? When asked to describe the sea today, who remembers to say 'wet'? And when asked to list the greatest knights of our age, or any other, who remembers to say 'Lord Leo Tyrell'? Some things are simply *too* obvious; for simply put, once you have mentioned the subject, it is as if you have already mentioned the individual, for they are simply synonymous with it. "As such, I hope that you recognise Ser Balon's statement as the compliment it truly is. Thank you for your time, Lord Tyrell." she finishes, as she attempts to leave, subtly guiding Ser Balon with her if he doesn't take the opportunity himself.

Yup. Sorry, Balon, I'm not 'Ragnar' isn't bailing you out of that one! Off to a great start! Are there any other PCs or NPCs that want me to piss them off? Going to have to bring back the Bad Luck B rian Balon meme.

Laena simply stares into Lord Marq's eyes for a good few seconds of silence, her porcelain face giving nothing away. Perhaps making a point that what she reveals to him, she does so by conscious choice. Or perhaps to hide how little of what she has said, and will say, is true. There is no way for Lord Marq to know for sure. Moving close enough to be just shy of scandal, she begins whispering, quietly enough that even he would likely have to read her lips to pick up all of it over the hubbub around them. Throughout, her eyes blaze with passion her voice cannot express. "I want silk and fur, "gold and silver, "I want women to watch me with awe and envy, "the strong to watch me with frustrated lust, "the weak to soil their breeches in fear of my displeasure, "I want armies to march where I point in the light, "assassins to dance where I point in shadow, "I want stars to fall weeping from the sky when I die, "and mountains to uproot themselves in anguish, "I want to live a life that will shake the heavens." After a final moment's stare, she takes a small step back, to a more respectable distance, and continuing in a more normal tone. "Does that answer your question, Lord Marq?" Literally gave me chills.

Literally gave me chills. Excellent. Precisely the reaction I was after. Also, two mentions on the first page! Woo! Still got it! (I should give credit where it's due: Laena's speech is adapted from a similar one in volume 2 of the (absolutely beautiful) comic 'Artesia'. That gives me chills when I read it, glad I was able to transfer that feeling across.)

Second the above from Donnel. Father, you're actually blowing my mind with the scope and detail of this game, and we're only on day 2. So thank you, and everyone else. Also: "Oh, I can think of a couple that meet your description. Except for the Empress part. My brother is a bad choice unfortunately, as you are both heirs, but I have cousin. He's a decent sort, and if he does anything to displease you, his sister and I can visit and set him straight. He might even be able to get your Father's approval, he squired for Lord Tyrell... but here I am, pushing yet another man at you. The last thing you wanted, I am sure." The award for best Wingwoman goes to Ashara!
