Here's to hoping it likes Normyn even less!

Here's to hoping it likes Normyn even less! Weep. At least your plan gives the security of knowing you can burn a DP to force a dismount. Best of luck both IC and OOC!

That's what you get for procrastinating!
Or maybe it's orokos way of hinting that the next chapter in Robyn's story would be better reading if he didn't manage to save the girl?

Anyway......I was enjoying this post so much that it should go here: [Disclaimer: I have permission from the players for this threadbombing.] After a moment's hestitation, Alysanne slides her arm through Ser Balon's, standing close enough that he could smell the orange-blossom scent in her hair. His side almost pressed against hers, the intimacy of their bodies sent an involuntary shiver up her spine. She found herself walking out of the crowded room in step with Balon, though he had to shorten his stride to match. Alysanne glanced up at him through long lashes, composed except for a traitorous blush. When meeting and mingling, it was important to stay long enough to make a strong impression, but leave soon enough to leave them wanting more. So it was that Laena has just made a swift exit from her previous crowd, and was looking for the 'right' person or people to join next. Unfortunately, her height made finding such people difficult at the best of times, and this event was rather crowded. Striding past a rather broad man walking the other way, she almost runs into what is clearly a couple. The woman is young, stylish, and beautiful - a real catch for... "Ba- Ser Balon!" She blurts out in surprise, stopping dead. She looks again to confirm that yes, it was definitely Balon. She looks back at the hussy who plastered herself to his side so wantonly, chest desperately attempting to explode out from her dress, which is seeking revenge by attempting to bisect her at the waist. Triple check? Yes, still Balon. The harlot? Still young and utterly gorgeous. She'd look better with a blue face, fingers clutching at her throat as she suffocates, but still beautiful as she was. Well. That didn't take long. She was at least able to conceal her emotions beyond the initial shock. But still, to be replaced so quickly, and so well hurt something inside her. And then I'll read the rest in that thread

OOC, Poor Robyn. Those Normyn's rolls! Orokos clearly has prejudice: Dornish for this duel. A freaking max roll on initiative. Good lord.
IC, Die you Dornish cunt! That's what you get for thinking killing peasant levies is the same as fighting knights of the Reach (or something like that).

Way to go Robyn! Nice to see dice breaking justice's way first for the NPC and then for Robyn. Showing the benefits of being a good all-rounder. greatbastards.boards.net/post/36041/threadFingers crossed something terrible happens to Simon Tarly. He and Roland have a rivalry going all the way back to Roland's background story years ago!

" I am no Falcon, able to evade the attention of the best the Reach has to offer. " Lying twice in the same sentence......

I know orthodoxy is that the focus should be on PCs (and I broadly agree with it!), but NPCs can have cool moments too, and their emergent narratives can make the world breathe and feel alive. greatbastards.boards.net/post/36614/threadVardis unhorsing one of the strongest combat characters! When will Vardis be promoted to primary character status? Daeron and I can dump all of our glory and wealth in to that noble goal. Admittedly Daeron isn't normally one for sharing Wealth given his drawback, so maybe just wealth in his case.

I’m not sure that Daeron is interested in sharing glory either, but he will drop a Fire point to promote him if that’s an option.

I’m not sure that Daeron is interested in sharing glory either, but he will drop a Fire point to promote him if that’s an option. Screw the civil war, dumping all of Fire and Blood points in to making Vardis as strong as possible. All of this will make his brutal death all the more heart breaking.

Promoting him will not likely make him any better, interesting or more prominent actually. It's not like the Starlings lack for talent with lance and sword.

Promoting him will not likely make him any better, interesting or more prominent actually. It's not like the Starlings lack for talent with lance and sword. Might be a bit better if he was a primary character? But true that part of his charm and interesting nature has been his success despite not being a primary character. He'd risk losing his plucky underdog status (and his lucky dice) if he got a portrait.

I think the small side story (if you want to call it that) of Ser Vardis is neat and his inevitable tragic and brutal death will add to the story. Save your points for another day.
Edit: Not to poison the well of ideas but Vardis sacrificing himself to allow Lysette to escape the clutches of Merryweather goons is very appropriate for a Companion knight.
