I have every intention of making this more interesting than spend the points->win the grand prize. As will be the case with other special NPC's people might feel like swaying. Will take a bit of work setting that and similar things up.

Him converting to fire isn't likely to help much in making him Lord Roland.
I'll have to mull over the particulars, but I think it unlikely that Leo can be swayed before the relevant "Cordwayner clause" in words are wind expires. Let's not forget that pretty much all the PC schemers aren't very interested in Lord Leo turning fire and/or tabling the Cordwayner matter.
Should probably be a chance of people getting up to 8 blood by the end of phase 4 as well, and enough of a delay between events being summed up and chronicle 2 formally starting to make things interesting.

Which would suggest heavily that it won't happen that way.

Wildfyre overthrows a Valyrian steel blade wielder, Ser Dennis Hightower himself! Also shows how Ser Daeron has developed as a knight, as his horsemanship contributed to the victory. greatbastards.boards.net/post/33298/threadIC Roland is all about chivalry. But OOC - kill Ser Dennis and take his stuff in classic D&D murder hobo style. Whatever his player chooses, a cool moment.

Not returning the sword to the Hightowers will certainly double the number of very powerful houses after his head.

Return it to them through their necks! If their foremost champion can't prevail against Daeron despite wielding Vigilance, surely the whole house can't trouble a Vigilance armed Daeron? Hooray for Wildfyre!

Daeron will definitely be returning the sword, but after the major battle is concluded. Last thing he needs is for the Hightowers to be after him as well.

Having not paid much attention to the mechanics (since they don't affect me), I'm assuming differing objectives may play a role in why he's dropping so many, but Robyn is an absolute *blender* in this thread.
