First and foremost a squire is a servant. Sometimes they are also a knight in training. Sometimes the knights in training are fostered noble sons.
There's a great exchange in the show (I forget which episode unfortunately) between Jaime Lannister and Anton Lannister (who replaced Cleos Frey from the books). Anton recounts the time he squired for Jaime for a tournament. Jaime talks about squiring for Barristan Selmy in the campaign against the Kingswood Brotherhood (in the books it was Arthur Dayne). Both were temporary assignments, not fostering.

Father,
Can you clarify this in the Willum Day 1 Event
Drink like a fish: Take 8 servings of Ale, withstand two attacks of (8-Endurance)D6, if the number of DoS scored equals your endurance, you get knocked out and loose.
Is the TN my passive Endurance?

Works like poison (well, it is poison), so it tests against passive Endurance(Resilience).

So I’m trying to charm Bittersteel and make him more friendly to my character. Would that be a simple or standard intrigue and should I a roll right away or wait?

Just my thoughts (father would have final answer of course), but it would depend on statuses and possible outcomes. I would think simple if it's just disposition increase, and you're not then trying to use that improved disposition in the same scene for more intrigue.
But I'd hold of on rolling until Father let's you know what you need to roll (might not just be persuasion(charm), or it might be complex) and the TN.
Just my 2cp.

In hindsight I should have put "NPC interaction at DM's whim" in my B&S post, is that something I can edit in or just keep such details in mind in the future?

Edit it (and let me know in this case, since I need to react to it now rather than sum up the results at the end of it).

I'm not sure if I missed it somewhere, but how long in real-world-time does each game day last?

Special: Characters with the Tourney Knight quality may add their bonus from that benefit to all tests in this event.
Respected gives +1 chivalry, no? Status test is keyed off chivalry.
