In all fairness, Daeron isn’t as much of a combat-focused build as he seems, which is half the reason I went with Berserker in the first place because it seemed like a benefit that could close the gap between him and other PCs with a high risk/high reward mechanic.

Piling on with all the melee characters, I would like to see more combat against Secondary (no benefits and can only take injuries) and Tertiary NPCs. Combat outside of tourneys and duels would be a great change of pace and adds a little risk.
I wouldn't count out F/B event, especially towards the end of story archs, for the same reasons Baelon put out. Of course nonpolitical events are fun as well.
NPC involvement is a good way to create a living breathing world so long as good (or bad) PC rolls aren't lost in the noise
I personally prefer either/or events since it gives a better opportunity for PCs and NPCs not normally in the spot light to shine, especially if the events are similar.

Most Secondary and Tertiary characters are only going to be much of a challenge in numbers, like the Aladore rescue scene, where they were 10 against 4. There is a Phase 2 event involving challenges that pretty much says that everyone that wants a duel may have one, but against the non-noteworthy opponents, there is no reward for winning and you're allowed to say "let's skip the scene, I won, he apologized".
Although I decided to ease the restrictions on the Whitewalls tourney to "You count as absent for house fortunes if you go" and the melee there can have scenes like that.

-While I agree the level of whoring might have been a bit excessive at Karl's remembrance (well, for most characters) I have yet to see someone pay the price, a real price, for all the horizontal mambo going on. No ladies with bastards (from PCs or NPCs). No marriage fiascos (cough, Parmen, cough), No lords demanding satisfaction for their "virtuous" daughter getting split like a piece of wood. Where is the consequences? Yes Alicent Florent is spending some time in a motherhouse and Farman messed up his chances with the Roxton girls but lets see something (not a death mind you, maybe something like the Aemon and Sebaston duel). I have the full intention of getting Trystane into lots of trouble in this regard, so I'll do my best to get into trouble that others can enjoy.

I sort of regret killing Karl Willum, he was fun to throw into anything and didn't have the stats to overshadow PC's.
But he was already living on borrowed time by the time of the riots.

I agree a lot with Balon and Laena; the key-word for me is Consequences - any event that leads to changes in the world or for the characters in it have all been top stuff for me. Abelar’s Riot (I can not praise this enough, from having to make choices effecting when you entered the fray and what armour you brought to exciting “real-time events”, enjoyable NPC posts and long lasting consequences - although in hindsight I think I chickened out on how I chose to move on from cheating death, but I digress) House Bridges inheritance, Cordwayner legitimacy, Trial of Lady Joanna and so on are great examples of this, but also “smaller” things such as the individual stories and consequences we’ve been able to follow in the melee or jousts. Roland taking Ser Norren’s eye, Aemon Flowers humiliating Sebaston Rowan, Balon killing Ser Walton, The wacky antics of Brute of Bracken, Tommard Heddle and Symon “Wild Wolf” Starkwood to name a few.
Both disposition gains and chivalry/glory/faction-points can and most likely will lead to longer term effects and consequences so I don’t mind those events. I was too late to the party to partake in the first round of Fire/Blood point spendage but there is place for a lot of fun there - as already seem with Laena and Balon’s point spendure. Next time I’m definitely rolling a more amoral character.
I can fully understand wanting to cut down on NPC participation because of workload, but that being said it is an element I enjoy a lot. But perhaps cutting down will allow you as Narrator to make the ones you actually include matter more and be more inspired with. You being inspired and having fun is what helps us feeling inspired and having fun, not crunching through rolls because you have to. For me, following the NPC posts for each round of the Jousts was one of my favourite things during The Black Tournament!
Retuning certain NPCs makes sense to me but it’s a balancing act I guess. As a PC you want to feel competent and somewhat... special within the world, but you can’t expect to win everything all the time either; that’s what DPs are for.
My 2 stags.

Another great knight killed by a Dornishman. Woman in this case. Hey that's my kill! Another thing I'd like to see is a failcombat between tertiaries and low-combat PCs. Like a drunken bandit whiffing with a battleaxe as Malyk owns him with a whip. Pure desperation, but limited ability.

Just a quick note that, if I have messed up any rolls or posts, let me know and I will fix them once I sleep. I just spent literally 3 hours on event stuff and now it's half past 5 in the morning and my head hurts and I'm exhausted. If I've buggered something up, that's likely why. Also, if anyone fancies interacting in relation to any of the events I've jumped into, I would welcome that.

In your Midsummer Feast post you'll *probably* have to reroll for your Blood agitation as it wasn't marked as Blood in your description. Edit: greatbastards.boards.net/post/17980/thread This thread is a good example of the specificity needed in dice description.

Updating list as I read: -Try to get more stuff which doesn't just involve the nobles playing the game of thrones with each other. -When there's opportunity for duels and fun, it should be equal opportunity (but earlier birds can still get fattier worms). avoid loads and loads of NPC's in the same event (and honestly, I need to stop anyway, it seems a good idea at the beginning, but just turns everything utterly tedious). -Try and throw in more event outcomes that isn't a faction vs faction thing. -Remove the restrictions on who can go to the Whitewalls tourney (by having to sacrifice other events) because that will offer opportunities to do new things. -It's okay to tweak NPC stats for the sake of balance. -Most of the NPC's shouldn't hit on everything that moves. -More stuff like Aladore Rescue, Abelar/Johanna Trial, Inheritance Squabbles. -Consequences of Disposition increases/decreases, side-quest triggers. -Event that offers hard choices (Like Riot) -NPC participation is good as long as it doesn't just become a lot of noise (and good chances of getting crazy rolls outdoing PC crazy rolls). -Paying real prices for whoring and orgies. -Somewhat competitive events (like Steel and Ribbons) are fun.

As to what I've enjoyed, I like when PC actions can have an impact on the story (for good or bad) and I like the freedom allowed (Balon going after Desmond was cool). I really enjoyed the riot for the same reason and because it allowed the martial characters to have a great scene. I enjoy that there is risk in this game, playing hero can have bad results. The duels and tournaments are fun, but I think Rolands encounter with the cutthroats as he saved Alicient was something that was very cool and a dynamic that would be cool to see more. Not necessarily always saving a damsel in distress, but just some martial scenes outside the context of a tournament. After all, with tensions rising in the Reach I imagine violence would be rising too. Especially between rival faction supporters, if not outright then through drunken men at arms. Or even violence directed towards any Dornish, given the Reaches propensity towards hating them.
As a final add in, solving mysteries is fun too. Even though Mikel had nothing to do with the Florent heir being rescused, he and others were working on it and had fun doing so. And the depth of it, how the heir had been found and his captors killed but there was still more to it - and the hunt for the hooded man began - that was pretty cool.
And as a last final add in, I do think some grappling mechanics would be cool but understand I may stand alone on that one. And even if I didn't, other mechanics might take priority.

I am putting together my final joust post, and I have questions;
1. How is my opponent chosen? Is that a thing I take care of, or someone else?
2. What details do I put in the first post? There seems to be some inconsistency when I look at what others have posted (like some listing dice pools and some not).
3. Is it possible to ask for a lady's favour between Round 3 and the final joust? Or is that something I would have had to do before starting round 1?
