"Fair, my lady, though if I am not mistaken, it is Lord Leo who will set the rules they must abide by, and he is likely to do what he can to favour his former squire. Perhaps still a coin toss, but at the least, a weighted one.
"Further, let me paint two possible futures:
"In one, however it is done, Ser Rennifer slays Lord Karl. Lord Leo's patience for bloodshed in his tourney is already well past gone, and is unlikely to forgive or forget what will be seen as a public slap in the face for the safety he promised all his guests.
"In the other, disappointing as it may feel in the short term, Lord Karl lives, and marries his lady lust. It is clear from her reputed actions that that so-called 'lady' does not fight the base instincts we bastards have to face down in the slightest. His reputation is in tatters, but he does not mind, for the moment. He is still blinded by lust. But lust-blindness fades fast, my lady. And he will all too soon realise that he has tied himself to the despised Levalles through a woman who can only be distinguished from a common streetwalker by the fact that she is presumably literate. He will come to know her numerous flaws. He will look at the children she claims are his, and he will wonder if that's true, likely with good reason. So there he is: with an heir likely not of his blood, tied to a house of abhorrent reputation, his not much better, and in that moment of clarity, he will *know*, with absolute certainty, that his decent into the hell that his life now is was solely due to the single decision to abandon your daughter." She locks eyes with the other lady. "If you wish Lord Karl a swift death, with all the consequences that gives you, by all means, stick with Ser Rennifer, he'll get the job done. But if you want to destroy him? If you want him to suffer? Choose my brother."
R1:
IltI - R1 - Influence - Persuasion (Act) - TN12: 6d6k4+2 21 Urgh! 1 off 3 DoS. 8 Inf (4 after DR)
22 = 2 DoS, 8 Inf (4 after DR) 8/12 remain
R2:
IltI - R2 - Fast Talk - Deception (Act) vs Will (Ded): 6d6k4+2 21 That's at least 1 DoS, from her composure, 2 if she has no Dedication
26 = 3 DoS, 12 Inf (8 after DR) 1-2/12 remain
R3:
IltI - R3 - Influence - Persuasion (Act) - TN8?: 6d6k4+2 19 Woo! 3 DoS! (unless she has *really* weird stats) 12 Inf (8 after DR) 0/12 remain
Unless she's willing to take frustration, I win the race! Against someone with Persuasion 5!
If she is willing, 20 = 2 DoS = 8 Inf (4 after DR), I take 1 point of frustration, 1-2/12 Composure remain
