Fortunately for Balon, Lady Sybelle is not the arrogant bitch that Denyse Cordwayner is Cackle. Every (fully justified!) scene like this showing Denyse in her true colours will only drive me to emphasise Roland's blind spot for his niece! My toughest moment was when Lysette asked about Denyse's positive qualities earlier in the story. Lysette, trying to help: "What's Denyse particularly good at?" Roland: "Denyse is proficient in the gentle arts, like many of the good ladies of the Reach." Essentially politely trying to say: "She's at best of similar competence to other people". If that's what your friends say about you... Maybe we're about to find out this is because she's a bastard, born of lust and lies.

Or maybe she's just her mother's daughter, but without the full set of skills her mother has to hide it.

Having picked up the Hamilton soundtrack for the first time in almost a year I am happy to announce that Titus will be joining the rebellion revolution wholeheartedly.

Go Addam! greatbastards.boards.net/post/10420/threadAnd indeed go the rest of the rescue squad, just thought it was appropriate that the man of the hour opened things up with a powerhouse attack, felling his foe in a single blow.

Things not looking so good though - if I read that damage correctly: Addam has to take a wound or 3 injuries to prevent the 9 damage hit from defeating him Balon has to take a wound or 2 injuries to prevent the 9 damage him from defeating him

Meanwhile in the Cordwayner camp, an unstoppable force (Ashara) meets an immovable object (Maegelle).
Vindictive and Proud squares off against Vindictive and Proud.
We don't have nearly enough popcorn.

They've reduced the enemy's attack power in the first round and hopefully won't get hit as hard in R2. I still believe in our heroes (perhaps we should pity the tournament that is in need of heroes, as Brecht didn't quite say). A few cuts and bruises will make the rescue all the more heroic. Flex on them guys. Bandits and robbers are too cowardly to stand in the face of a good flexing.

Lucky for me, my target is Lord Ilyn not Lady Maegelle.... she can hate me as much as she want so long as he caves. I mean, things might get uglier between us, but that can all be good fun, too.

]1 Damage 11/12 3 Damage 8/12 2 Damage 6/12 9 Damage, 2 Injuries (8) 5/12 1 Damage, 4/12 That look right to you? The first hit only reduces you to 9, so you would end up at 5/12, but otherwise that's how I read it.

That's not exactly how this is going to go, you scared the little puppy into hiding between momma's skirts for this one. The alternative would be her sitting there and mollifying away every bit of damage you do, which would be tiresome. But hey, win this one and Ashara gets what she wants, lose and Maegelle gets what she wants. Quit and it's game on.
