Roland's sales pitch is less convincing than Lord Levalle's which seems appropriate. We have honour and chivalry and stuff?
Honour is a currency hard to earn, harder to spend, and whatever you trade it for probably wasn't worth the price.

Honour:
- not a medium of exchange - not a store of value - not a discrete unit of account (Chivalry score?)
Honour: clearly not money. Next in crap economics jokes applied to Westeros: if honour was a currency, what would be the optimal currency area? The whole realm or just the Reach (avoiding those honourless Dornish skirmishers)?

In case anybody was wondering, Daeron does own an oversized wine glass that has “if you can’t handle me at my worst, you don’t deserve me at my best” bedazzled onto it. So you’re saying that I should’ve kept my gauntlet on when I hit him?

So you’re saying that I should’ve kept my gauntlet on when I hit him? The gauntlet's extra damage and potentially inflicting an injury to penalise his gossip-mongering would clearly have been the power gaming choice, well done on roleplaying it.

Enjoyed Daeron's Furious flash of temper, very Targaryen. Good character development and shift in tone: will he redeem himself end up like Ser Daermon or instead be his dark mirror and closer to Ser Balon and Ser Otho? D7 - bribes, D8 - breaking a fool's nose. What do we escalate to on D9?
When a Targaryan is born, the gods flip a coin...
Agreed, though - we are at a point in the game where frustrations and tempers run high, and we start to see characters at their worst as opposed to the carefully crafted masks donned for 'polite' society. It's one of my favorite parts of these games.

Day 7/8 I pushed on both of Daeron's drawback buttons...now let's see if we can't have a race to the bottom of having drawbacks kick in to avoid being in the narrator's sight for day 9.
*rubs hands together*
Mechanically, punching people in the face outside of combat has whatever consequences the narrator feels like letting it have, wouldn't necessarily matter if it was gloved or not.

Drawbacks are where so much of the fun lies.

Loving how all these 17 year old girls keep lecturing everyone on what a “man” is.

Loving how all these 17 year old girls keep lecturing everyone on what a “man” is. they all read Tiger Beat magazine so I think they have a better understanding than actual men.

It is a biological fact that women's brains mature faster than men's.
Besides, this is Westeros, and moreso the Reach - the manchild is the predominant manifestation of male power, and girls as young as 14 (e.g. Janna Hightower) are seen as prey or prizes - seen as livestock as much or more than as people. Women grow up fast or suffer, men are scarcely chastised and oft rewarded for never growing up at all.

I know I’ve messed up when Eldon’s disposition towards me raises.

He still hates you, just not so much as all the knights that ruined his banner.

If you know a man's worth by his enemies, then we shall all strive to be foes of Lord Merryweather. Probably creating a void for Lord Levalle to step in as his only friend and exploit. Speaking of which, just in case anyone thinks I'm shutting down Lord Levalle too hard in various threads, we're building up to something later and want to accurately reflect his Reviled drawback and foreshadow some stuff that may come up later. Also gives both of us chances to provide IC hints of various things that might matter later. greatbastards.boards.net/post/10261/thread

I'm personally loving all this tension building. It's fun playing off each other's drawbacks.
Although poor Alliser is getting hit hard with his drawbacks today. It's great. If I can get involved in some fighting then have to track someone that would be hitting all if them in one day.
