Excited about D8!
Also; big ups to Father for keeping all this going! Narrators get easily taken for granted but just wanted to say how much of a blast I’m having with the world that’s been created (and we get to be part of creating). Also making it all work alongside with studies, much appriciation!

Getting hit with a 1 DoS Persuade (Seduce) in the Lord Willum thread and then dissuaded from following the stranger by Deception is certainly going to weigh on Roland's conscience, as fun OOC as it is troubling IC. Roland managed to neither dissuade his new friend from doing something foolish nor apprehend a wrongdoer. Better yet for tragedy, he was present and could have done something about either but ended up solving neither. Bad stuff is genre appropriate. - Narrator: I failed my "Romantic" roll in the Insult to Injury thread and went with what seemed natural to me, but happy for you to twist it to something else as this is after all a failed roll on a Drawback.

I feel bad for Laena. I'm waiting for Bryce to say, don't call me I'll call you. Poor girl.

I feel bad for Laena. I'm waiting for Bryce to say, don't call me I'll call you. Poor girl. When you aim to climb a mountain, you don't expect an elevator. The biggest challenge with Lord Bryce was never going to be getting his interest - and Laena knew that going in. Everything up to this point was just the trek *to* the mountain.
On top of that, this is Westeros - if it's easy, it's a trap.

It would've been much more of a hate crime if I didn't take my gauntlet off first. Pretty sure that would've knocked him out or given him an injury. But yes, definitely a hate crime.

That would make a great topic for a Blood rumor. ^_^

Does it really need to be a rumor if everyone saw it? I'm pretty sure that Butterbumps is going to tell everyone anyway.

May well show up in the almanac naturally, upgraded to a blood rumour if somebody writes a Blood supporting rumour around it?
Normally I'd be looking forward to D9 already to see it, but D8 has so much exciting stuff I don't want to wish it away!
Enjoyed Daeron's Furious flash of temper, very Targaryen. Good character development and shift in tone: will he redeem himself end up like Ser Daermon or instead be his dark mirror and closer to Ser Balon and Ser Otho?
D7 - bribes, D8 - breaking a fool's nose. What do we escalate to on D9?
Looking forward to thinking through and playing out Roland's reaction in character. Roland's pretty conservative, so may well roll with "Bastards are wicked creatures and prone to violence" type condemnation.

Let me just put in a plug for house Levalle. We will accept shamed knights one and all, as long as you know how to wield a sword and stick it in my enemies instead of me.
The pay is pretty great. And so are the views.

This is the Westeros equivalent of "Don't get in a Fight with anyone that buys ink by the barrel". Look forward to seeing what that roll produces! Good stuff from Daeron, playing up his character's Targaryen anger and frustration. After the compelling pitch from Lord Levalle, here's what house Starling has to offer: - Internal conflict between Blood (Lysette), Fire (Daeron & Addam) and those born with a heart filled with neutrality (Roland, but likely to end up Blood fighting against plentiful Fire friends due to IC events unless something dramatic happens). - A Vainglorious lord that will force you to spend personal Glory rather than House Influence if he's competing with you for something (such as melee captaincy let's say). Joking aside, things like this and the hunt are great for communicating a Lord's personality. They also give the game a sense of reality and make the game less PC centric, which I enjoy. While games should be about PCs, things like this are great for a sense of verisimilitude when done in the right dose (as in this case!). - Tied for the lowest staring equipment funds! Roland's sales pitch is less convincing than Lord Levalle's which seems appropriate. We have honour and chivalry and stuff?
