Is Day 7 still set to start tomorrow-ish? Any pointers to threads that I should get on ASAP? Addam was also hoping to meet with you as well on Day 6 after an off scene talk with Balon, but I'm willing to push it to first thing Day 7 morning

Great, yeah let’s save that for D7 then.
Same with you, Laena if you don’t mind.

Just a heads up on the Seven Sided Contest, it looks like Balon supported Fireball in his thread, not Bittersteel, which should change some of those final tallies. Right?

That looks right to me, it won't affect the captains/challengers (as both are already in the top 7), but might affect the selection order later. Not sure how the tie between Bittersteel and Prnce Maekar would play out, just left them in the same order.
Seven captains: Bittersteel 21 (Supported by Ser Dennis) Prince Maekar 21 (Supported by Ser Tywin Lannister) Roland Redwyne 19 Quentyn Ball 17 Daemon Blackfyre 16 Aerion Baratheon 16 Robb Reyne 14

Putting this here, as it is completely counter-intuitive, and he is neither the first nor the last to be tripped up by this: Haughty gives -1D, which you would logically think would be the opposite of +1D, but no. That would be logical. I'm assuming you have 3D base in Awareness (Empathy)? In that case, you actually end up with 2D1B - -1D converts a test die into a bonus die, rather than removing the die entirely. Because .... reasons.

That would be logical. I'm assuming you have 3D base in Awareness (Empathy)? In that case, you actually end up with 2D1B - -1D converts a test die into a bonus die, rather than removing the die entirely. Because .... reasons. I can explain this! It's really kind of a matter of laziness/editing inadequacy on the part of Green Ronin - they used the "D" to mean two different things which take effect in different parts of the die rolling procedure (which is technically several steps, though we tend to collapse it into two - figure out the Orokos code, then submit it it).
It's not that they mean the same thing but reverse, they are actually two distinct concepts.
Test Dice are what you get for your attribute, extra test dice effectively (for the purposes of determining what you roll) increase your attribute. Penalty dice are applied after you remove die from your dice pool equal to the number of bonus dice rolled. That makes one extra Test Die and one Penalty die (+1D and -1D) equivalent to +1B: you roll an extra die, then remove an additional die - but not necessarily the same die.
Clear as mud, right?
To make it even more confusing, they don't really define how bonus die reductions (-1B) work until (as far as I'm aware) the combat chapter, which specifically talks about Training Penalties (pgs 155 - 157, split by a table). Hm. Actually, now that I search for it, the "-1B" notation does not exist in the book. Penalty dice are notated as a positive value(1B, 2B), and every other penalty I can find is either in Penalty Dice (-#D) or a flat modifier (-#). Interesting. I guess we just made up negative bonus dice out of convenience.

Good luck to everyone jousting in R4! Entertained to see Ser Manfryd Grimm (best name?) continues his role as "enforcer" against those who've killed people. Let's see if Ser Vardis's Cinderella story continues! Lord Tyrell v Ser Aerion looks promising too. greatbastards.boards.net/post/8498/thread

Cordwayner boots clearly stamp out Fireballs. greatbastards.boards.net/thread/539/day-roland-cordwayner-quentyn-ballAdmittedly helped by a rotten roll from my opponent. Now to invite Ser Quentyn and Lord Peake on to my team anyway, under the guise of thanking Fireball for two fine passes and thanking Lord Peake for making things fair by making sure we both had excellent horses - that loaned horse effectively cost me a destiny point, but hopefully worth it for story potential later. Also gives me something worth trading in intrigues and might give reasons for Roland meeting various PCs/NPCs - Roland's not a bad punching bag if you want to intrigue yourself/a suitor/an enemy on to a specific melee team.

Of course! We're (about to be) family. A massively dysfunctional family, but a family nonetheless. Plus together, we fight crime. Or at least attempt to unpick ghastly murders. Someone have a crack at a cunning (logic) roll and see if it produces a hint in the investigation, or spend/burn a destiny point for a clue. Depending on how challenges go, Roland might end up as the only Blood sympathising captain. Or even be intrigued away from that - looks like Ser Daeron has summoned Roland's idol to a joint scene. Melee might be a Daeron supporter fest, or alternatively feature Roland's lonely knot of crown loyalists. We'll see if Lord Willum can defeat the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard.

- Fire rumour that alleged Ser Addam Velaryon accused Prince Baelon of hiding behind the Kingsguard No need to roll there. It was a public rumor so Roland should know that I did call Maekar a coward.
