Armor is factored into the endurance test, the end result is basically "how much got past the defenses" (including offense=good defense).

[OOC: Roland will join Ser Addam's team. If family circumstances look like restricting availability, Roland will instead take captaincy elsewhere and then drop at the final.]

So known teams:
Davos (Solo)
Addam -Roland -Aubrey +2
Willem Starling -Daeron -Aemon
Symon Starkwood -Mikel -Robyn -Lyonel of the Cockleswent -Room for one more
(Symon will not be letting little brother lead, so might be two Starkwood lead teams).
Walgrave -Balon -Normyn +2
Preston -Up to 4
Redtusk (solo)
Marq Durwell -Manfryd Grimm -Loras Durwell (not featured, but popped up in joust). +2
Others to be ran through the gauntlet: Fireball Owen Roxton
Narrator open to suggestions as for other people they'd like to see how they might fare.
Probably going to throw some unspecified secondaries through the gauntlet and figure out who (if any) gets through to the finals.

Totally fine with being on Symon’s team! No need to separate the Starkwoods further

Do assist need to be decided before rolling or can they be retroactively added (perhaps note in the roll which rolls you want an assist on)?

Best allocate first, easy enough with at most 2 PC's per team, since then it can be assumed they're assisting each other if better than from NPC's (but proud comes into play for some...)

So thinking that generally seems reasonable that how this works is that: 1. Captain gets assists from strongest two on team (warfare separate). 2. Two strongest assists one another. 3. Captain assists other two. 4. Other two assists each other and one each of the two strongest (non captain). -If Proud kicks in, then I guess secondary character simply gets slotted in for Roland (and Lyonel for Robyn). So breakdown of how this would work: Assist bonuses are in the order test appears, so 1,2,2,3,4 is agility, Endurance, Fighting etc...in case of proud 2(3), 2(4)....+Roland means 2+Roland assist, 3+Roland assist if there is one, 3, 4 if proud kicks in and NPC is assisting instead) Davos (Solo) Addam 2,2, 2, 1, 2, 2+Roland -Roland 3,4,4,X,3,3 -Aubrey 1,2,2,X,1,1+Roland +2 secondaries Willem is proud: 4d6k3 12Passed Willem Starling 3,4,4,2,4,4 -Daeron 3,4,4,X,3,3 -Aemon 2,4,4,X,3,3 -Vardis 2,4,4,X,2,2 +1 secondary Symon Starkwood 1,2,2,1,2,2+Mikel -Mikel 1,2,2,X,1,1+Robyn -Robyn 1,2,2,X,2,1+Mikel -Lyonel of the Cockleswent 2,4,4,X,3,2 +1 Secondary Walgrave 4,4,4,4,4,4 -Balon 3,4,4,X,4,3 -Normyn 3,4,4,X,4,3 +2 secondaries Redtusk (solo) Marq Durwell 3,4,4,2,3,3 -Manfryd Grimm 3,4,4,X,3,3 -Loras Durwell 3,4,4,X,3,3. +2 secondaries (Team Durwell does a family and champion first variant) Fireball 2,4,4,2,2,2 +4 secondaries Owen Roxton 2,4,4,2,2,2 +4 secondaries Preston Oakheart 2,4,4,2,2,2 +4 secondaries

Redtusk does count among the best warriors in this field, but cooperation and tactics to win a melee is something he already have done, so this time, he goes it alone. His antics and tactical choices during the clash may be questionable, but his fighting prowess is not, allowing him to push through where other men would have been easily defeated. Redtusk goes solo: 6d6k4-1 18 6d6k4+4 25 9d6k5+3 25 6d6k4 19 7d6k5 23Forgot warfare: 4d6k3 73,4,3,3,3,0=16, so -8 health, 1 injury.

Roland would brook no offers of assistance, succeeding or failing on his own merits. It was the least he could do with his namesake boldly fighting alone! [OOC: simple failure on one roll for Redtusk = an injury for my namesake? Naturally I and the other PCs would be relieved if the one man wrecking crew yielded instead, but this at least makes it marginally easier for someone to stop him in the melee. Maybe... Assists - Roland can still make assists, just not receive them? Proud: "In order to allow others to assist you on tests or make a test in your stead (if you have at least 3D in that ability), you must make a Self-Control Test. The same applies for backing down from a challenge. A goad action targeting you (whether successful or not) counts as a challenge, failure to resist treats the taunt test as successful with however many DoS as it takes until they or you are defeated or yields."] Appleton Melee - Proud TN 12 (can Roland accept assists): 4d6k3 10

Hmm true, I was sure proud was "can't accept/give assist" but that's not how the wording is, so yeah, can assist, failure just means can't receive assists and will have to do his own warfare test.
Redtusk takes the injury, the rest of the bunch should be given a sporting chance!

The Durwells gets themselves into some heavy resistance, enough for Lord Marq and his brother to take an honorable yield before risking serious injury. But Ser Manfryd seems no worse for wear and emerges as perhaps the most indomitable threat to others desiring victory. Marq Goes: 4d6 10 4d6+7 20 8d6k5+5 21 4d6k3+2 13 6d6k4+3 17 6d6k4+3 161-3-2-1-2-2=11, so -13, must take injury, drops. Manfryd goes: 6d6k4 17 7d6k5+4 28 8d6k5+5 26 13d1 13 2#7d6k5+3 26 203+4+4+1+4+3=19, so -5 Loras goes: 3d6 12 4d6+4 21 6d6k4+4 24 13d1 13 5d6k3+3 18 4d6k3+3 181+2+4+1+2+2=12, so -12, must take injury, drops. Into the finals: Redtusk: -8 Health, 1 injury Manfryd Grimm, -5 health

So what people should do is update their post based on assist information here: greatbastards.boards.net/post/34860/threadWill also be needing assist bonus numbers from Roland, Daeron, Mikel, Robyn and Balon to finish off the NPC stats. We'll see how many gets through to the final rounds, may have some "in-between" scenes to thin out the field before having a free for all at the end.
