Yeah, prepared counterattacks and stuff on round 8 (when you were still fighting mooks), his attack actually happens before your attacks, then they take their turn after you. I don't see how that wasn't clear, like, the whole point of counterattack is to get to strike first against someone who's about to move up to you. You asked about it, too: greatbastards.boards.net/post/33664/thread

I admit I got the Round number wrong when asking my question but no it wasn't clear. If it had been someone in the dozen pages of PMs between the Riverlands Fire PCs would have said, Hey this reads as a free attack then their round of actions after ours.
Counterattack happens the same round as our action (Round 9 apparently), not before. Why would we Reckless attack if Ironhand got a free hit then they all got to attack us with sub 10 CDs?

Yeah...that was not at all clear. In Rd 8 I was not engaging Ironhand so I'm not certain how he could have landed a counterattack at that point...
To be clear I'm not arguing about the overall damage, Parmen got walloped in RD. 9, its the order of events that I have questions about.

I think it seems clear enough that you really should have caught on to the fact that he gets to act first.

It wasn't clear. If it had been we wouldn't have acted in the way we did. You said prepared Counterattack. Counterattacks trigger the round in which the person was attacked, not the prior round. When I asked about the prepared counterattack I asked was if I had to roll first in order for Parmen to gain the benefit of my Knockdown which opened Balon up to the Counterattack.
We're not asking for a change to the DPs spent, nor Parmen even taking a wound. We're asking either the counterattack occurs the same round as we attack or if he gets a freebie then they all get to attack/act again we get to change our stances from Reckless to Standard knowing we'll have to randomly drop a die from our 1st attack rolls.

The Counterattack occurs in the same round, but the action taken for it happened in round 8 when you were fighting mooks.
You use counterattack when enemy is moving up to you so that you get to "strike first", and I really, really struggle to see how you could not have caught on to that happening. Especially since it was explained as "effectively it's he gets to attack, then you take your turns, then they take their turns".
That coupled with the part that your approach would have worked brilliantly if not for the DP makes me highly reluctant to let you change it after the DP.

Finish that one! Ironhand bellows and his minions duly bear down on Parmen while Ser Ulbert turns his attention to Balon, electing to leave his might axe lodged in the plate of this lackey of the most hated Brackens. "Shield!" he commands, the squire duly fitting it on his arm. "Axe!" The motion is interrupted by Parmen making a savage two-handed attack, giving Balon the opportunity to act before his enemy may arm himself again, obviously having decided to go for hard strikes to eliminate one foe before then more slowly dealing with the other. He seems to have underestimated Parmen, but even a Redwyne is unlikely to last much longer under the circumstances.
Okay, this is taking too long: Knight 1, knockdown Parmen: 6d6k4 18knight 1, Reckless Attack Parmen: 7d6k5 294*7-11=17 Knight 2 knockdown Balon, Reckless Attack Parmen: 6d6k4 19 7d6k5 22Balon prone, another 17 to Parmen, fatigue wouldn't help him, so spending none. That's 2 wounds, Parmen being a Redwyne...he'll brave another round, I'm not killing PC's when under temporary control, but he's probably either downed or turtling after his next attack. Attack Balon, then grab shield: 9d6k5+1 21With Powerful 3 it's 4x9-10=26 Parmen takes 2 fatigue to ignore wounds, drops shield to go with both hands. 5D base,+3b +1b for prone, -1b Bastard sword +1b reroll from talented, -4 injury/fatigue, +1 talented +1 sword, +1D from Reckless= 6D+4b-3=7D+3b-2 for DP conversion. Reckless Zweihander Redywne: 10d6k7-2 304*8-11=21, that's a wound. Ulbert Blackwood: CD: 15 (13+2 from taking fatigue when attacked) AR: 11 Health: 1/12 (Tough) Injuries: 1 Fatigue: 1 Wounds: 1 Wields Shield and weapon hand empty, squire at hand for assorted other weaponry, about to hand him a battleaxe. Blackwood Knights: CD: 11 (13+3 for taking fatigue-5 Reckless). AR: 10 Health: X/12 Fatigue: 1/0 Wields bastard swords and large shields. Parmen: 4 Fatigue, 4 Injuries, 2 wounds, 3 health, +1b turned to +1D, CD 2 (Reckless), AR 11, Tough.

I want to make sure I understand this. Ironhand took 1 Fatigue to ignore the -1D Parmen inflicted upon him with Manuever here: greatbastards.boards.net/post/33688Then he is going to take a 2nd point of Fatigue to ignore his AP if/when attacked.

Actually, that -1D can't be fatigued away, I just missed it, so it's 18 and should be 17 damage after AR then. Fatigue triggered by Parmen.

"Lock shields" Ironhand commands "Get that whoreson off me!" His companions turn their attentions to Balon, trying to overpower him and hold him down the way even peasants armed only with sticks and stones could kill a knight, while Ironhand attacks Parmen to force him out of the fight for good.
Ulbert Receives axe, goes cautious attack on Parmen (unmarked in code, but kept dices is correct) Attack Parmen: 9d6k1+1 714-11=3 Damage, Parmen must take wound or defeat, so it's either capture or retreat for him. Knights grabs Balon: 2#6d6k4 10 201 fail, 1 succeeds. They'll need to use lesser actions to get their swords back in hand. Ulbert Blackwood: CD: 22 (13+6+3 from shield other and cautious) AR: 11 Health: 1/12 (Tough) Injuries: 1 Fatigue: 1 Wounds: 2 Wields Shield and battleaxe. Blackwood Knights: CD: 13 (13+3 for taking fatigue, -3 for shield other). AR: 10 Health: 12/12 Fatigue: 0/0 Wields bastard swords (currently not) and large shields. Parmen: 4 Fatigue, 4 Injuries, 2 wounds, 3 health, +1b turned to +1D, CD 2 (Reckless), AR 11, Tough. Either captured or takes 1 more wound and retreats.

Question 1: Shouldn't the damage total to Parmen be 1 instead of 3? If Ulbert is using a Battleaxe (Various House Rules shows Damage=Athletics+1) and Parmen is prone that's ATH+2, 6 x 2 DoS = 12 - 11 AR = 1 Damage. It's the difference between a defeated Parmen and one more Yolo swing.
Question 2: Are there any house/custom rules for breaking free from grab or is it per the rule book: A grabbed opponent cannot move until you release him (a Free Action) or until that opponent beats you on an opposed Fighting test (Brawling applies; A Lesser Action).

Understood.
What is the Goon's dicepool for Fighting (Brawling)?

Same as they attacked with (forgot +1b for prone target, so they have an extra +1b that wouldn't change anything).
