Assistance with security, physical and otherwise, would indeed be highly valuable to her in Marq's estimation, and he suspects that Lady Falyse knows it. His knowing smile suggests that he is not guessing and that Ser Guyard is nowhere near as receptive to offers of such aid. He might just be playing her, having no interest in the matter at all, but pretending to have interests everywhere to make him seem the person to seek when Laena could use a favor of some sort, although given the way he likes to play the game and how he cannot possibly not have an interest in influencing matters at Oldtown, a regent at Bandallon in need of favors he probably could provide, if not himself, then through a friend. It probably favors him politically to have Lady Falyse appointed regent, his character suggests he'd want to see Falyse given a chance, and succeed.

AddamAll of Whitewalls heard the kitten roar and that was quite an impressive sound, Gormon notes. While he could consider that match for Ser Randyll, arrangements have already been made with Red Lake, Lord Crane is a deal more important to bind to their cause through alliances and, he hesitates before saying other favors, it is no great secret that the pennypincher's loyalty is being bought with gold. And while a knight can make a difference in the thick of things, Gormon admits, a lord can make a greater difference when it counts. Gormon says nothing about the exceptions, like Redtusk and Aubrey Ambrose, it probably does not occur to him to compare Addam with those. Addam only scoffed at the notion of an impressive roar. Lannister had only waited on the outskirts of the melee while Addam had faced down three Freys on his own. "And until Lord Glendon passes from this world, he will be lord. A lord who would rather keep his gaze focused towards the Iron Islands rather than our enemies at King Landing."

That marks him for a clever man, such men are dangerous foes, and makes for fine caretakers of one's domain. And Lord Glendon having his sights on the waters means that he might require another to lead his men on land, hmm?
Besides, Lord Eldon is hardly noted for the prowess of his arm, but if a companion of Kingsbridge as much as turns his back to that foul man, he will be stabbed in it by a Longtable blade even so. In the world of knights, a single man might reign supreme by the command of his own sword. In the game of thrones, in the world of kings and lords, it is the combined powers of all swords under his command that makes a man reign supreme. Addam might be better, but it was not Addam who won.

Can probably call /scene, with maybe an eye to re-opening if something happens elsewhere later but chronologically prior that I'd wish to discuss with him.]

"And in this game of thrones, Ser Loren has the swords of House Lannister supporting him. If I were to pursue Lady Hewett, what "swords" would I have at my disposal? Would House Peake support me? House Redwyne? The whole weight of the cause?"

At the ball, the hopeful young knight is nowhere near as intriguing a prospect as Lord Quentin might be, no. Laena can't quite place him, whether it's the drink or the man's obscurity, Lyonel Cuy, or maybe Leo Costayne? A cousin of one of those houses. He received accolades for his good performance at the lists against Ser Addam, though he was defeated after a respectable number of broken lances, displaying the pride and high confidence of a youth yet to suffer his first fall. A potential useful patsy for one scheme or the other, if Laena has one in mind. Laena is momentarily frustrated - the sheer lack of visibility on who everyone is here limits her options significantly. So, she decides to throw fortune to the fates, and focuses, rapidly casting her eyes around, alighting on the seal and the weasel as being attractive, provocative non-Dornish ladies with moderate, yet not excessive resources presumably available to them. Maybe one of them would spark some kind of idea for an entertaining scheme. RhaegorRhageor need not be coy, Imry states, he knows about a certain expenditure Lord Alliser made for a certain incident at Cider Hall, with Rhaegor being the middleman. His feigned confusion shifts slowly into one of understanding, as he nods his head, closing his eyes, "Well, it certainly accelerates conversations when you skip the pleasantries and dance of intrigue, but i always find that the dance is what makes words worth speaking." He opens his eyes once more, staring at the second son of his lord with an intense glare, not one of threat, but to certainly convoke that Rhaegor was not a man to be threatened, despite Imry's relation to the lord he serves, "You obviously have something in mind that would require my services, and by cutting through any doubts you have peeked my interest. What can i help you with, my lord?" He gives Imry a smile, as all do when addressing a superior: full of teeth and spite glossed eyes.

Addam
Did Addam not just claim that Ser Loren was no true competition? House Velaryon is on the other side of the landmass, but certainly, a union with a man of Ser Addam's loyalties would surely be a choosing a side, and that comes with implied offers of alliance. A pity that Lord Walgrave is a fool, getting angry about knights remembering their holy charge, surprised perhaps, but angry? No. That other thing just leads to headache down the road.
Rhaegor
Well, Imry happens to be stuck in an unhappy marriage that serves House Levalle ill. And yet, he is an accomplished knight, a strong fighter and a highly capable jouster. Surely The Tear might leverage these qualities to find a more agreeable bride? A union providing greater opportunity and power? A lordship even, Lady Daena Roxton for instance? And he knows his brother has a certain interest in the Shield Islands, and Lady Delia Hewett would serve nicely to pursue such ambitions. Ladies Grimm and Rhysling would also be equally attractive, although perhaps not so needed to bind to the loyalist cause. Marriage until death does us part does put a snag in that plan.
To Rhaegor's ears, it sounds less an issue of "could he" and much more one of "should he". It is true that the marriage to Lady Lyanna has turned into a vexing matter, hardly bringing any benefit to Lord Levalle. But should Lady Lyanna accidentally die, Lord Florent would surely suspect Ser Imry and the other Levalle's of foul play, and would surely be wroth at his bannermen should he confirm any such suspicions. And the incident, alongside the ill rumors at Highgarden regarding his mistreatment of his wife, would damage Ser Imry's prospect at remarrying as he hoped.
Though if a man were to care naught for the life of one poor innocent lady of little consequence, there is certainly an opportunity to be found in an engineered tragedy, if great risks as well. Better, perhaps, to make the girl take a septa's holy vows. Although from what Rhaegor could gather, Lord Florent had used his influence to forbid the septon at Highgarden to let her take those. Outplaying that old fox would be more difficult than to simply murder the girl, but House Levalle's liege lord would just have to accept it and move on. Or Rhaegor could just let the matter lie, that would be safer, and not necessarily a bad idea. But who knows if the foolish young knight wouldn't take the matter into his own hands if Rhaegor does nothing?

A potential useful patsy for one scheme or the other, if Laena has one in mind. Laena had kept an eye on the Seal, amongst others, throughout the evening, and seen her slip her blond dance partner's mask partially off, near the end of what was clearly a rather seductive dance. Lacking a use for the man approaching her, at least without a risk even she would call 'excessive', she decides to just send him her way, to see what happens. "I am not in a position to give you what you seek, however, if you can spy the seal over there," a slight tip of her head in the seal's direction, "she is fond of her sharp wit. If you go to her, and introduce yourself by saying 'I am impressed by your wit, my lady. By what means did you hew it down to such a sharp edge?', I think the chances are good you will receive a more interested response." Would the knight have the wit to spot her hidden message? Would he repeat her words accurately enough to pass it on? Laena didn't know, and didn't significantly care, but it would provide a momentary entertainment to see how things panned out.

The knight doesn't seem to have all that much wit, but a young man's mind, appetites and delusions, he proudly strides towards the seal, but the way she rejects him and eggs him on even further is far more impressive than the young man's initiative and social courage for one so averagely skilled. Ultimately his persistence is rewarded.

But who knows if the foolish young knight wouldn't take the matter into his own hands if Rhaegor does nothing? Rhaegor placed his finger to his lips as the man spoke, his eyes listening to the words as much as his ears did. As he finished, he inhaled deeply, eyelids closing to better process everything. After contemplating for a good minute, he placed both hands on his desk and helped himself stand, looking at Imry with a placid face and passionate eyes, "My lord, you are certainly all that you describe: accomplished, strong, capable... Yet, you are certainly expecting a lot of me. What you are asking requires more than strength and capability, it requires thoughtful planning and a web that needs to be strung." He reached down to his desk, picking up a coin to gently flip along his knuckles as he idly spoke, staring at the glittering disk, "I am certainly capable of the quick removal of our problem, but I only like to call on the blade when there is a distraction. Focus elsewhere when wine fills their bellies and all of those who can witness. Such a bloody mess, and while it can certainly send a message, im afraid it is less effective than I had hoped for." He shrugged, the coin landing on his thumb to flip into the air and catch, uncurling his fingers to gaze at the imprinted design. "However, that doesn't mean she couldn't be forced to break off her responsibilities, and free you from your chains of marriage, my lord," He smiled briefly, "If she were to, say, be forced to take a septa's holy vows, would that not also solve the problem? Killing her will only come back to haunt you, my lord. You would be the first person eyes would fall on to blame, and Im sure that is not quite what you are hoping for, hm?" "And what would I get out of this endeavor? My time is not free," He stared into Imry's eyes, hoping to catch some sign of weakness and be bereft of it himself.

Is not Rhaegor sworn to serve House Levalle? The chain might not be fetters in the literal sense, but it is what it is. The young knight has no less arrogance as can be feared of most men of his age and tourney victories. Though he is quite agreeable to the notion that if she were to take holy vows, it would solve his problems with much less blood than a knife, he only wishes to be freed of her to pursue a lady granting a lordship as befitting a tourney knight as skilled as himself and the ambitions of House Levalle.

He smiled, though a slight twitch in his left lower eyelid gave away a hint of spite towards the knight, "You are certainly correct. I have sworn to serve House Levalle in all my maester duties; tending to the ravens, giving advice when asked and even apply milk of the poppy on cuts when someone inevitably meets business end of a blade." Rhaegor slowly approaches him, each step methodically placed meant to close the distance between them as well as intimidate the knight, "I am not, however, fettered to you whims and fancies, despite how you perceive my chain. I am not and do not cater to you, my lord." He stood in front of Imry, keeping his posture long and tall, eyes unblinking as he stared into the knight's own eyes, leaning in closer, "I could easily ignore you cries for help and wishes to be set free from your marriage, and let you handle the situation however you see fit. I could keep a close eye on you and watch as you fumble and fail to do what you are asking of me." "You are a skilled tourney knight, my lord. But if you charge in on horseback with only a general sense of what you are aiming at in every situation, you will miss your mark every time." After a moment, Rhaegor smiled once more, turning on his heels away from Imry and continuing to speak, "Now, I do want to help you, my lord. Despite my complete lack of necessity to do so, I think that your problem is like rust on that expensive armor you adorn. Eating away, slowly tarnishing and eroding to dust your image of success and greatness." He found his desk, resting his hand on it as he leaned back, head turning to give the knight his full attention, "But just as rust on armor, it is a costly endeavor to remove properly. If you do not see it that way, and wish to simply scrape the rust till it disappears, you are more than welcome to try. But I do what I do and have my reputation that brought you here for a reason; because I am the best. And, with any skilled artisan, my time and work is not free." He crossed his arms on his chest, looking to the rings on his right hand briefly, before giving another smile to Imry, "And how much, my lord, are you willing to spend of that prize money you earned to see this through?"

Not free, no. Imry snorts. The Citadel requires their fees to appoint a maester to serve. Lord Levalle must spend to supply his maester with books, medicine and other things as is required for his function. But what does a maester need any spending money besides this? But sworn to give counsel as it is? What would Rhaegor suggest?

Rhaegor shrugged as he stared down the young knight, "Well, for one, this will not be a task that is free, regardless of my cost," He sighed, "If I would have wanted to go the assassination route, a skilled and discrete man would have cost upwards of 40, even 50 Gold Dragons. I am taking a large risk here, just as that man who holds the blade, and there is a lot on the line should I fail, especially when it comes to how the incident would reflect on our House as well," He smiled, "The more coin in my pocket, the less likely I am to be careless." "I run a business, my lord. Businesses cost coin to run." He raises a hand, leaning back, "Now, I am not going to ask for a full payment upfront, I wouldn't dare do such a thing. You have yet to see my work work for you, and I prefer the idea of down-payments. Half is usually fair, and this is going to be an endeavor which will take some favors passing hands.." He stopped as his face scrunched, deep in thought. He couldn't ask too much, but this was going to be a costly endeavor, whether he liked it or not. The coin was a formality, it only eased the pain that Rhaegor felt in partaking in this plot, and the favors he felt like he would owe. "How does the price of 45 Gold Dragons sound, my lord? It is a fair price, and I even cut the amount down from my typical cost, as a token of good will," He stared into his eyes, watching for his response. (Would you want me to do a bargaining roll? Or perhaps a intrigue scene?)
