In old times, The Star Tribunal was the highest court of the faith, presided over by the High Septon himself. Once the faith held the authority to try any man or woman having taking the holy vows to join it's ranks as septons and septas, or any sworn sister or brother of the holy orders. Many a petty king of the age of heroes had allowed the faith to sit in judgement against those accused of adultery and other sins. Indeed, up to the time of King Maegor the Cruel, many a lord had kept such customs and traditions in the great patchwork of different laws and interpretations of them until the great labors of King Jaeherys the conciliator to grant The Seven Kingdoms a unified legal code. In these days, only the lord holds the right of pit and gallows, and justice ultimately rests with the lord that metes it out in the name of the king. Though some remnants of old traditions still lingers, The Hightowers have chosen to allow the faith to judge any of it's number in his stead, something that does not happen often. Today, the seven of the Most Devout that sit on the Star Tribunal is the only such court left in the Reach, more often than not it reprimands septons for indecent behavior, it has been two winters since last they ever did more than threatening expulsion. But now a well known and highly controversial septon will stand trial accused of acts endangering the church and leading the faithful astray, with both supporters of his ideas and those who find him highly dangerous are making their way to Oldtown to witness the proceedings, and possibly intervene to influence the decision of The Most Devout. They are supposedly incorruptible, but they remain no more than men.
Restricted Event:
-Partaking in this event makes you count as absent from your home domains for the purposes of House Fortunes. You may also not partake in Party Like a Bridges.
Influencing the Tribunal
Each participant may take three actions (Abelar may take five), a cumulative +3 TN applies for each subsequent attempt of the same action (So, if doing the same option three times, the second time is at TN+3 and the third is at TN+6, this does not affect the TN's for other actions). It is possible to use your action to assist/coordinate on another's action, the number of times that particular action has been attempted is treated as the highest number
Generally, only characters affiliated to the same house should coordinate efforts between them (such as sharing information, selections of septons to influence), although Abelar may coordinate with any PC that offers assistance.
Dice rolls that influences opinions (popular or of the most devout) must be marked with which side one favors.
Engage with Septon Roswyn, once only:
Status (Reputation)+Chivalry/Virtue TN 23 (Audience test)
-Abelar may automatically succeed, and this will not count as one of his actions.
-Generally, standard intrigue or other offers are required to sway him or get any help from him.
Researching the Most Devout.
Knowledge (Streetwise) TN 12
Cunning (Memory) TN 12
-Learn one piece of information about the members of the tribunal per two DoS scored, critical failure: Come across false (but very convincing) information.
-Information learned may be of use in other actions.
Preach to the masses:
Persuasion (Convince or Incite) TN 15.
-Each DoS grants +2 points of popular pressure towards your side, critical failure counts as -3 DoS
Play politics:
Cunning (Logic) TN 12
Persuasion (Convince) +Chivalry/Virtue TN 12
Status (Reputation) +Chivalry/Virtue TN 12
-Each DoS grants +1 point of popular pressure towards your side, critical failure counts as -3 DoS
Engage a member of the tribunal (can try once for each of the six regular members, these being Septon Tristimun, Septon Castos, Septa Umma, Septon Perwyn, Septa Corinne, Septa Ilana):
Status (Reputation)+Chivalry/Virtue TN 16 (Audience test)
Awareness (Empathy) TN 9
Cunning (Logic) TN 9
Will (Courage) TN 9
Persuasion (Varies)+Chivalry/Virtue TN 12
-Success on all tests shifts the leanings of that member one step in your favor per DoS on your lowest scoring test (exempting status).
-One may outline the main argument/method used, which may have additional effects (Such as whether Abelar's actions are right or wrong, arguing based on what the Seven Pointed Star and Holy Scripture says, appealing to the interests of the faith, threats, bribery, blackmail...).
-Convince is the standard persuasion specialty, but others can also be used, bargain if offering coin/favors, intimidate for threats, incite for inflaming emotions. Charm, Taunt and Seduce (but who knows about that one?) are generally not applicable.
Expend Political Capital:
-Participants may spend glory or influence to sway one member of the most devout by one step in your favor (Abelar may use his "special" influence), at most 2 points of influence may be spent by each house (spending 2 points for and against Abelar is allowed, though)
-Gain +1 Disposition from Eldon Merryweather (up to twice) if spending against Abelar, suffer -1 Disposition if spending for Abelar (Does not apply if Abelar does it).
-May have other effects.
Throw down the gauntlet (or pick it up), once only:
-A chivalrous knight may declare that the Gods favor one side or the other, and dare all who would disagree to challenge him.
Persuasion (Intimidate)+Chivalry TN 15
Status (Reputation)+Chivalry TN 15
Success on both tests shifts the leanings of a number of septons equal to the lowest scoring DoS across the two, unless you are challenged and defeated.
-If you are challenged, the duel will be one round of tourney lances followed by longswords until one party is unhorsed or yields. +1 Chivalry and +1 Glory to the victor.
-Chivalrous knights that do not issue a declaration, may instead challenge one who have done so.
There are larger matters at play than the fate of one troublesome priest.
One may spend two actions on ignoring the outcome of the tribunal entirely, and instead seek to frame the outcome to serve one's faction in the game of thrones.
Cunning (Logic) TN 9
Persuasion (Convince) +Chivalry/Virtue TN 12
Status (Reputation) +Chivalry/Virtue TN 12
Mark which side (fire/blood) you favor in the dice rolls.
Highest total DoS for your faction succeed on all three tests (rerolls for tie-break, PC's always tie before NPC's): +1 Fire/Blood
Faction with highest total DoS overall: +2 Fire/Blood.
The Hearing
Once all participants have taken their actions, Abelar must make his formal appearance to plead his case
Awareness (Empathy) TN 12
Knowledge (Education) TN 12
Cunning (Logic) TN 12
Will (Dedication) TN 12
Persuasion (Convince) TN 18
-Each 3 points of popular pressure in Abelar's favor grants +1 on all tests, each 3 points of popular pressure against Abelar increases all TN's by 1.
-Each Dos makes a random member of the tribunal lean one step towards Abelar's position.
A majority of 5 needs to vote in favor of expelling Abelar from the faith. The starting leanings of the members range from +3 to -3. As there is a desire for consensus, if there are more with a rating of 3 or more one way or the other, all members of the tribunal will shift one step in that direction. Each +2 or higher is a vote in favor of absolution while each -2 or lower is a vote in favor of expulsion. If four or more votes are in favor of one result, all neutral members will vote the same way.
Septon Roswyn's leanings can only be influenced by engaging him directly, and he makes his own choice as to how and what to vote.
Place it in the hands of the Warrior.
Once the decision has been made, any of the seven Most Devout or Abelar may chose to challenge it, they must then select their champions from such knights as are willing to stand. Ordinarily, the quality of the volunteering NPC's will be higher for the party that "won" the vote (as it is presumed that an exonerated Abelar would not challenge the result, and why would one of the most devout challenge the result
To stand as champion: +1 Chivalry, winning champion: +2 Glory
Benefits/Drawbacks considerations

Charismatic: Gain +1 on persuasion tests.
Famous: Applies as normal for audience tests.
Great Bastard: Gain +1D on the tests to influence fire/blood and playing politics.
Head of House: Applies as normal for audience tests.
Orator: Applies to preaching to the masses and the persuasion test in the hearing.
Septon: benefit applies to all applicable tests.
Honor-Bound: Triggers for knights who actively supports one side of the argument or the other, on a failed test you must offer your sword to the supported side in case of trial by combat (but vainglorious may still force you to soil yourself by offering it to the other side if not selected).
Marked: +1 TN for preaching to the masses, playing politics or engaging a member on the tribunal, also applies if you assist or coordinate on the test.
Prejudiced (septons): Triggers if you seek out one of the most devout, on a failed test you insult them and the action is wasted.
Proud: Triggers, on a failure you are not allowed to assist or coordinate (or benefit from assists/coordinate bonuses)
Vainglorious: Triggers, on a failed test you must seek to partake in a duel. If it comes down to trial by combat, it triggers again, on a failed test, you must volunteer to ride for both sides (you can chose whom to ride for if receiving offers from both, and whom to offer it to first).
Zealot (power): Triggers, on a failed test you are compelled to maximize disposition gains with Lord Eldon.
Destiny Points
In addition to the standard uses of destiny points, Abelar (and only Abelar) may spend a destiny point to automatically swing one of the most devout to a +3 vote. He may also burn a DP to swing all seven of them to unanimously favor exoneration. Abelar may also spend/burn DP for his champion in a trial by combat as if he himself were fighting it.
