BreathThis was it. Come hells or high water, this was it. BreathFather's voice, Balon's voice, Ser Eoric's... they were all going around his head. Pointers, instructions, corrections, all provided to make him, no, to guide him. But it wasnt them sitting on top of Wheatsheaf at this moment. It wasnt them grasping his lance and wearing his helm and armor. It was him. And this was his moment. Know Your Opposition - Cunning (Tourney): 5d6k3 13 Opposite him Ser Humfrey mounted his destrier. He nodded to the knight. He looked to his right, to the stalls and to Lady Deana. Titus smiled. Breath

Ser Humfrey is well known in the Reach as a highly talented tourney knight, despite being a Valeman, he has made the journey several times.

Ser Humfrey and Ser Titus clashes violently, both break their lances, neither seems threatened in the saddle.
It does count for riding in her favor, I forgot this is a special case so I'll be taking personal charge. High in Saddle, Stay in Saddle, CyB: 5d6k3+8 23 6d6k4-3 16 4d6 15PR: 20 AR: 10 Health:12 1 DoS vs 1 Dos, both stays in saddle, no damage to either one.

Ser Humfrey was a competent and experienced rider, more so than Titus. He hit hard and rode steady. But he did extend for Titus' right, just like Father said. A good clean hit on his then exposed left could work. Just like yesterday.

Ser Humfrey and Ser Titus follow each other like shadows, as evenly matched in skill as can be, going into the third round, a feeling comes in over both men that if they both break their lances and keep their seats in the third tilt, Lord Tyrell is likely to allow both to proceed into the third, even though a victor must be declared to receive Lady Daena's favor. A good hit! But not good enough! Titus wasn’t sure if he was thinking about his own hit or Ser Humfrey’s. The crowd was loving it though. He looked over to Lady Deana to try and discern what she tought while he was turning Wheatsheaf around for the next round. Never mind that, shut it all out. A candle in an empty room The analogy had been given to him by nuncle Jon to quiet the mind. Titus found it helped. Trumpets. Wheatsheaf thundered.

Ser Humfrey decides to play it safe, caring only about smashing his lance and keeping his seat. Both lances shatter. Though with the draw most likely secured, they both can afford to focus fully on the prize of victory. The nerve is most certainly there. Ser Humfrey aiming for his shield shouldn’t be taken as a sign of weakness, the seasoned jouster could be attempting to feint nerves. Show weakness where there is none. Goad Titus into acting out of over-confidence. Into doing something foolish. Titus exhaled sharply and took off once again.

Ser Humfrey suddenly spurs his horse for a change of pace, hoping to shock his opponent and get the lucky break that appears to be needed to decide this match, but he accomplishes very little. The match continues, with nothing at all to separate them so far. Noble, EF, HiS, Aggressive: 5d6k3+12 24 6d6k4-3 11 4d6 12PR 17 AR 10 Health 12 He employs heightened stakes for the next tilt.

Ser Humfrey's second feint in a row does nothing to tilt the balance. His highly aggressive move is followed up with a strong conservative follow up. The two knights breaks their lances and the nerve is certainly there. Defensive+3 Aim for shield: 5d6k3+3 15 6d6k4 18 4d6 19PR 23 AR 10 Health 12 He employs heightened stakes in the next round, too. Meaning +3 TN to stay in the saddle if that wasn't clear.

Five runs. Five broken lances. Titus was hardly thinking now, he just moved on instinct. Ser Humfrey's attempt to feint and throw him off barely registered. The man was bound to make a mistake. Eyes fixed on his opponent, Titus drove Wheatsheaf into a gallop. Would lance number six be then end?

Six lances. Titus had never been close to anything like this in the squires' jousts. His body was aching, his grip was straining. Now it was about endurance as much as skill in the saddle. He gritted his teeth. Force yourself through it.
