Steel and Ribbons (Ladies)

The best seats in the stands today, the front rows in the middle are reserved for the young and unwed ladies, and if not for all the eyes of the Reach being upon them, they would surely have squabbled physically to be as close to Lady Amerei at the very center with her selected guest, the Great Bastards and daughters of the Lord Tyrell's principal bannermen. Many a lady exchanges icy, arrogant and jealous stares among themselves, though they are all mostly inviting smiles towards the knights.

Stage 1: Catch the eye.

It is generally difficult for a lady to try and attract the attention of a specific knight (unless she already did something about it earlier, that is), instead, the mechanics is more a matter of general ambition, a lady chooses the quality of knight who's attention she desires to attract, the base TN is 12 +3 for each point of status sought above her own. She adds her virtue to all tests.

Any critical failure counts as -3 DoS.

You attract a number of knights whose combined status equals 0.5*DoS*status sought. You may designate up to three NPC's which you attempt to make eye contact with, this would be more of a suggestion to the narrator, but it should typically be sufficient to sway a knight that would consider you a suitable candidate to pursue.
Succeed on all tests: Attract knights as if total DoS is 3 higher+3 if having the attractive benefit +6 if "highly sought" (just Lysette, presently.)

The knights attracted will typically tend towards being of the status sought, though some variation is to be expected (especially for 5+ as that selection is more limited).

A lady may offer her favor to wear to any one (or no) knight asking for it as she pleases, and she may offer as many as she likes to ride in her honor.

You may spend a destiny point to gain +1D on each test.
You may spend a destiny point to attract a specific NPC, provided that the total DoS scored equals his status (+2 for each point of status above that sought).
You may spend a point of influence to lower the TN by 2.

Stage 2: Snatch the leftovers.

A lady dissatisfied with her options may attempt to sway someone not being granted the favor of another. This is rather overt, as she must actively ask, disposition towards her from the lady who offered the knight to ride for her honor is worsened by one step.

Awareness(Notice) TN 9 success makes you spot an opportunity of equal status as you, each additional DoS increases the status of the opportunity by 1 (Though there may be none available above 4).
Simple Intrigue (Charm or Seduce), +1D if attractive, add virtue, TN equal to the passive status(reputation or tournaments)+chivalry of the designated knight, you may aim lower than your awareness test allows.

In either stage 1 or 2, you may spend a DP to decide the identity of one of these knights if his status is within the limits of what your tests allows for, special NPC's may be spoken for, in which case the DP is not spent (but you cannot then spend it to pick again).

Stage 3: Challenge.
All these suitors will follow the steps of the knight track, which may trigger rivalry actions under steps 2 and 3, in the case of 4, you may trigger a challenge between the two highest scorers if dice results ties them. NPC's may attempt to trigger challenges, though in this case you may freely choose whether or not to allow the winner to gain your favor, you could do that in step 4 type rivalry also, but that costs you -1 virtue.

Stage 4: Rivals.
Knights that you only offer to ride for your honor may attempt to exercise step 4 of the Knight Track, and may be targeted by rival ladies during stage 2. It is up to you how you react to such attempts. You will, however, not notice a simple failure step 4 attempt if the knight succeeds on his deception test.

Consequences:
-Ordinarily you gain +3 disposition from the knight wearing your favor and +1 from those riding for your honor.
-Each chivalrous knight of status rank at least equal to your own riding in your honor: +1 virtue for #2, #4, #8 etc.
-Giving your favor to a chivalrous knight of status rank at least equal to your own: +1 virtue.
-Giving your favor to a knight of chivalry 3+: +1 virtue
-Giving your favor to a chivalrous knight of status 5+: +1 influence.
-Giving your favor to a highly sought chivalrous knight: +1 influence
-For each three matches won in the joust by a chivalrous knight wearing your favor: +1 virtue, +1 influence
-Each chivalrous knight riding in your honor that reaches the quarter finals: +1 virtue

Note that granting your favor to a married or betrothed man (aside from your husband/intended, of course), inflicts -2 virtue and no gains. If married or betrothed and offering your favor to another man, this inflicts -2 virtue. In all those cases, it is an insult to his wife or your husband/betrothed, and he suffers -2 Chivalry. Merely accepting a married man to ride for your honor carries no penalties, but his wife is likely to see your acceptance as an insult to her if present.
