The attendance at Lord Leygood's joust is relatively modest, but it is whispered that he could not afford a grander spectacle than this. Some of the more prominent jousters of The Reach are fighting on the Trident, several others cannot find the time to attend, leaving the field open for those who might otherwise face long odds of receiving the champion's wreath.
Restrictions: Only characters in The Reach may attend.
Special: There will be at least one scene to be triggered at this event involving a PC in attendance (opportunity may be assigned at random or to whichever PC the narrator deems would allow for the more interesting story).
NPC Participation: Champions of female PC's will be featured. Also possible that a rival for a favor might appear.
Challenge
Before each set of Ride and lance tests, make a Chance TN 9 test, on a success you lower the TN's for that round by 3, on a critical failure, the TN's and ransom are as normal for the next round ("Round 5" is 21/18, 25000SS)
Make a succession of Animal Handling (Ride) and Fighting (Lances) tests, do not apply any bonuses from techniques or animal handling rank, success on both tests grants a ransom as noted and you proceed to the next round, on a critical failure on either test you are unhorsed and must pay the ransom. On a simple failure, the match is a draw and is awarded in accordance to your total DoS scored. If your DoS are equal or greater than 5-Your Status Rank, you are awarded the victory and may proceed, otherwise you are defeated (no ransoms are paid in draws).
You gain the bonus from tourney knight to both tests, superior mount grants +1 to the Ride test. Destrier grants +1 to the fighting test. Modifiers for charging or jousting techniques does not apply.
Fighting TN is noted first.
Round 1: TN 12/9, 1200SS
Round 2: TN 12/9, 3500SS
Round 3: TN 15/12, 5000SS
Round 4: TN 18/15, 5500SS
Quarterfinals and onwards: Regular jousting scenes with +1 Glory, +1 Chivalry for each victory.
Dirty Tricks
Prior to making the tests for a round, you may test Deception (Cheat) TN 12, gaining +1 on your tests per DoS. Critical failure leads to discovery and assorted consequences.
You may use Simple Intrigue (Bargain) against TN 12 prior to round 1, automatically succeeding on the chance test for a number of rounds equal to your DoS, but for each round that is so "fixed", you must pay half of any ransoms won in bribes. On a critical failure, you will automatically critically fail all the chance tests.
Favors
One may ask an NPC to give or receive a favor by succeeding on a Simple Intrigue (Charm)+Chivalry, highest result usually counts for sorting rivalries. If a lady's champion reaches the quarterfinals, she receives +1 virtue and +1 glory. Gain +1 Disposition from the NPC in question, +2 for crowning a lady queen of love and beauty (up to a maximum of +5, crowning another inflicts -5 from the one whose favor you carried and cancels the +1 gain).
Queen of Love and Beauty
Being named Queen of Love and Beauty grants: +1 Glory, +1 Virtue
Finals
Played out according to the full jousting rules.
-Knights tilts against one another until one is unhorsed or fails to break his lance.

-If both are unhorsed on the same tilt they must settle the matter on foot with swords.
