Although Ser Byren Flowers had not been numbered among the pre tournament favourites, he seemed a knight of skill and poise from what Roland had observed so far. Know opponent Ser Byren Flowers: 5d6k3 11

Ser Byren is not a name one wishes to face on foot with swords, luckily, Roland should be able to win by lance.

Talented (Fighting), Blood of the Andals (Fighting) Full Plate, Destrier.
Hmm, goes HiS, relying on BoA to save him from dropping off.

Ser Roland rode well, firm in his saddle and his initial passes had the full weight of man and horse behind them. However, there was a brief lapse in horsemanship for his talented opponent to take advantage of. v Byren Flowers P1-6 N,EF;SiS;CyB: 6#8d6k4+8 31 29 21 28 22 27 6#6d6k4+1 20 19 19 13...- DoS on attacks v PR 18: 3/3/1/3/1/2 - Might need Blood of the Andals in pass 4 to remain seated, or be dismounted entirely in that pass if facing a 3 DoS hit. More like using BoA on the first pass and then going down on the second.

Roland favoured his foe with a nod, impressed that the knight had not been dismounted in their first pass, and at the solid blows the knight landed in return. His fellow Reachman may not have made fine arms and armour, but would doubtless soon be able to afford such from his tourney winnings. This knight was a curiosity - they hailed from the same Kingdom, but Roland knew the man only by his unfavourable nickname, "Black Byren". His service to Lord Piper, a noted toady of the late Aegon the Unworthy, suggested this was perhaps a knight that had earned his dark reputation. [OOC: can I check if it is Byren or Byron Flowers? I've just realised part of the reason I underplayed this impressive knight's reputation is that I missed him in my original "Search" function use on the forum, as in greatbastards.boards.net/thread/1015/phase-2-whitewalls-tourney-event he appears as Byron but he's Byren in the draw and cast page so I'm assuming it it Byren. I'll go back and correct my posts if necessary to make other people searching for him easier!]
