To the Southeast of Highgarden, opposite the Roseroad from the camps are the tourney fields. Martial competitions happens often enough at Highgarden that there is a permanent grandstand able to seat a thousand nobles on benches, with another privileged hundred or so enjoying cushioned comfort under roof at the section offering the best view. Those minor tourneys tends to be small events with modest prizes, usually only involving the sworn swords of Highgarden and the occasional attendants of the court, Lord Tyrell does like to arrange one in the honor of a guest staying for long enough to enjoy such entertainments. More than one tourney knight makes their living from the ransoms they can win. The Tyrells themselves claims that this tradition helps foster the skills of the noble sons of the Reach, a great many of them fostering at Highgarden.
