Day 10 is almost over, but this is a good thread to spread rumors and/or reactions to mob violence
Soaking in the hottest of the pools, Daeron didn't seem to mind the scalding water, but only appreciated its ability to wash away the grime and blood of the day, and blood there was aplenty. Just yesterday he had killed his first man, a false knight and blackguard, and today he had killed close to two dozen peasants who arose in righteous anger at a foul villain. Not only had he killed them without mercy, but he enjoyed it. The first few fell as if in a training exercise, without thought or much effort, but after that the dragon awoke. He was a creature sublime, completely aware of every action and yet living through the eyes of another. He was superior in every way as he flew through their ranks and delivered death and terror upon them, interrupted only by the arrival of the Tyrell contingent. Reliving the events of the day he washed away the blood of the nameless masses along with the other knights who stepped in, for heroic or pragmatic reasons, and shared his opinions. D10, Locker Room, Pro-Fire Rumor TN9: 5d6k3+2 17, 2 (6) DoS________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Going to keep things vague until we find out what happens to Donnel, Titus, and the Smallfolk event in general. The day had been a long one. The duel with Ser Daemon, the Smallfolk riot, the coming political storm for House Blackbriar, it was exhausting both mentally and physically. He'd mentioned earlier he planned to visit the baths and visit he did. A long hot soak would help alleviate some of the stress and soreness. He had cleaned himself at his pavilion but now he needed a good scrubbing, just in case someone answered his challenge. After stripping down he headed for the hotter waters and saw Daeron, "Mind if I join you ser?" he stated as he entered the bath, "How did you fare in that massacre?" Daeron could see Balon's body was free of injuries and wounds. A bruise here or there but otherwise unharmed. He reached for a brush and began to scrub his hands and forearms.

Pro fire rumor: 4d6k3+3 19 3 DoS Attactive Reroll (Day 10 fire rumor): 1d6 3 No change
"It seems your Septon is more trouble then he worth." he said, sliding into the hot bath as well. Addam's foolish charge to create an opportunity for Roland had re-strained some of his previous injuries, and he found that the hot waters worked best to alleviate some of the pain. "What is it, 2 riots now that he has started?"

Like Balon, Daeron was beaten up, but suffered no real harm, unlike the score of peasants that he hacked to shreds hours earlier. His tone was grim as he was still not happy with the earlier events and personally felt unsure if he had done the right thing.
"Massacre is right. I'd say that I fared better than most did today, and I'd be lying if I said that I didn't feel a slight pang of pity for some of the knights who fell defending a foul lord today.
I don't think that the good septon will be given an opportunity for a third riot, at least not at this tourney."

EDIT: With the death and maiming of Donnel and Titus I am altering the post.
"The good septon takes every opportunity to chastise and berate me and now he's done something far worse." Balon's facial expression showed a contempt for the firebrand, "I don't care much for Lord Eldon or his blackguard but there is law and there is chaos. This was chaos. The smallfolk are meant to be ruled by us." Balon emphatically added, "Not administer mob justice!" Unlike the Companions Balon had no connection to the girl that was raped and while it wasn't something he generally approved of Abelar went about it the wrong way. "If he is put on trial I will not stand for him." Standing in defense of Abelar was something Donnel or Titus would do and Balon was not them. The Septon was alone.
"I killed two dozen people today. Us," he motioned to the three of them, "Ser Aubrey (Ambrose), my father and brother, that hedge knight from House Starkwood, and others killed well over a hundred smallfolk. And for what?! Lord Eldon still lives. Nonsense." It was clear Balon found no joy in what he did. He shook his head in anger. "Absolute nonsense."
Balon quieted down and was more somber, "I hear Lord Karl (Willum) clings to life. Rumor has it it'll be a miracle if he makes it through the night."

"Aye. This will probably be his undoing, even if he survives, I don't see him ever recovering fully. Such an energetic knight will go mad if confined to ruling from a chair or bed. It takes a truly heroic, or foolish, man to rush such a mob with a broken arm though."
By now Daeron had also heard of the tragedies in House Blackbriar.
"My sincerest condolences to you and your family. Your father and brother are good men and great knights. May the gods spare your house at least one tragedy and see fit that Ser Titus remains with us."

"Lord Karl was truly one of the greatest among us. If the stranger does visit him, I don't think the Seven will be able to contain his spirit."
As the two men continued to talked, Addam sunk deeper into the bath's warm embrace, losing himself in his thoughts. When Daeron mention Donnel's and Titus's fate, Addam nearly choked on the water. He had left with the rest of the Companions once Lord Eldon had been brought to safety. There was simply nothing else to see and the fates of those involved were a mystery to him. If Balon's father and brother were at the Stranger's door, surely he would of said something already. Shooting a confused look at his friends, Addam waited to see how Balon reacted.

Balon was scrubbing his forearms and listening absent-mindedly when Daeron mentioned the tragedy involving his father and brother. He instantly stopped what he was doing and perked up, confusion plain on his face. Something has happened. Balon had left the riot once it was contained and never thought to check in with his family. He'd been so focused on the fighting in his immediate vicinity he hadn't known his brother and father were involved. His voice was anxious, "What happened to Titus and Donnel?" Balon was already exiting the pool knowing the answer wasn't going to be good.

His mouth turned down at its corners. He hadn't intended to be the bearer of this bad news.
"I saw them go down in the riot within a mob of smallfolk and never saw them regain their feet. Last I heard.. Well I heard that Ser Titus, like Lord Karl had survived, but just barely, and that Ser Donnel..."
He's unable to finish his point. It didn't need to be said.

Roland entered, seemingly looking through everyone present rather than making eye contact.
The neck wound Ser Rennifer had given him in their duel was bandaged, and he took care not to get it wet.
So far he was silent, unwilling or unable to speak and thank the others for buying them time for the tragic Blackbriar rescue effort.
