Ser Jasper is known as a sour man, but a very capable swordsman. As is Ser Lambert, though the Scorpionbane is known to favor the mace. After a fierce opening clash where both earns the respect of their foe, the duel morphs into the men circling each other to test each other's defenses, but ends in spectacular fashion when Ser Lambert finally finds the opening he needs to rip the shield of his foe off his arm. Jasper's reaction is to hurl himself forward, trying to take hold of Ser Lambert's shield so that his sword has a clear path to the man's head, but the effort is parried with ease, as if it had been anticipated. Ser Lambert decides to seize the moment thus presented to put his full swing and weight behind his next blow, Jasper has no choice but to use the arm where his shield used to prevent the sword to threaten to open his neck, and he jolts from the pain. He throws his sword at the feet of Ser Lambert in surrender.
