Their meeting is awkward, but Ser Parmen cannot let Lady Jeyne suffer for what he had done, he had been honest to his wife, and she felt betrayed, trust will take a long time to restore, a price he accepted to pay, but he could not burden the one he had led into sin with the wider consequences of his action. His honor was already in tatters, dragging it to the mud would soil him a little bit more. He does not pay gladly, he pays reluctantly, but he pays.
