Balon had lost his duel with Daemon Blackfyre just as he knew he would. What he hadn't planned on was being commanded to seek forgiveness for his hateful words. Like a good soldier he agreed without argument but Balon wondered if Ser Jasper would even meet with him after all the heinous things he'd said. Fucking half-breed will probably come to rub his victory-by-proxy in my face.
When the messenger returned with Ser Jasper's consent Balon made his way to Highgarden. The camps were a mess in general after the carnage at the Merryweather pavilions and Balon wanted a neutral location to apologize. With any luck everyone would be so focused on the smallfolk attack that no one would ever notice two knights talking in one of the many halls.
When Jasper finally arrived Balon swallowed his pride and was courteous, "Thank you for meeting with me today."

"What do you want, ser?" Jasper doesn't have any reason to like Balon and he doesn't care to hide it.
I believe this scene calls for a little prejudice test to see if Balon doesn't screw this up.

D10, Ser Jasper, Prejudice TN12: 4d6k3 15, Whew!____________________________________________________________________________________________ Ugh, Balon thought, This is not going to be enjoyable. Life would've been easier if Ser Lambert had just killed him.Balon had given his word to Ser Daemon and he was going to follow through. Taking in a deep, calming breath he began, "I wanted to apologize to you in person for my actions last night. They were inconsiderate and unbecoming of a knight. While I'd appreciate your forgiveness I'd understand if you believe I'm not worthy of it." There that wasn't so hard. Balon didn't know what to expect in response. The man had a reputation as an angry, resentful man and Balon knew why. Jasper had grown up in a castle where the lord and many men hated him. That'd be tough regardless of who you were. While Balon had no sympathy for him he understood why he acted the way he did. After all it was the reason he'd chosen Ser Jasper for his verbal assault.

"If you mean it, ser" Ser Jasper appears to be one of those men who does not waste words, he does seem very doubtful, suspecting that Balon merely obeys his idol.

"If you mean it, ser" Ser Jasper appears to be one of those men who does not waste words, he does seem very doubtful, suspecting that Balon merely obeys his idol. Do I mean it? he wondered. His prejudice was deeply ingrained in him and Balon wondered if there were any good Dornish? House Yronwood was the exception Balon always turned to. The Yronwoods belonged in the Reach or the Stormlands, not Dorne. Their crime was the location of their castle, not the purity of their First Men and Andal heritage. I'm sure there are good individual Dornishman, I just haven't met one yet. No matter I'm here to fulfill my promise and I've done so."I do. The benefit of hindsight has taught me that." Balon needed to learn to keep his mouth in check before it caused a problem he couldn't worm his way out of. "But you have more important things to do than listen to me. I wish you good fortune in the melee tomorrow."[/scene? Balon isn't looking for a conversation unless Jasper has something he wants to bring up.]
