Ser Sebaston Rowan wonders why he ever got talked into this, he had been bested in the first round for the favor of Lady Lysette in a match he had been expected to win. A rematch where the Great Bastard had the upper hand had seemed like just the thing to show that he was worthy of her hand, so gallant, so romantic, so utterly foolish. He does not remember much, only that he might as well have been a young cocky boy thinking himself a man and then having been utterly humiliated by reality. Would that everyone else could so easily forget what just happened as he.

While no less dedicated to avenging Lord Bryce's death, after a night's sleep, Laena was at least able to divide her attentions somewhat. And part of her attention was clearly focused on the fact that everyone was to leave the day after tomorrow, and she had no-one pledged to marry her.
Yet.
So, this duel was particularly interesting for her. Either man would likely make her a good husband, could he be convinced of the same. But so long as their eyes were full of Lady Lysette (or, probably more accurately, the Lord Protectorship being her husband provided), she knew she couldn't really compete.
Ser Sebaston's utter humiliation here opened doors for her just as much as it closed doors for him. He may only be a second son, but House Rowan was a powerful neighbour to the Starkwoods, and a friendly and attractive face in a young man's darkest hour could have quite the influence. And maybe, just maybe, Lord Thaddeus would see the value in strengthening his ties with a neighbouring crown-loyalist house through a son so publicly humiliated as to have few prospects before the projected war takes place.
She strokes her chin as she ponders possibilities.

Daeron strokes his chin as he watches the two men duel. They were both talented warriors, but Ser Aemon clearly was the better of the two. Hell, he might have been better that Daeron with how quickly he dispatched Ser Sebaston. This will make it easier for me to fulfill Lord Florent's request. The next Lord Starling needs to be someone who the Companions will follow readily into battle. It was over as quickly as it started and as the crowd dispersed, Daeron slipped over to Ser Aemon's squire and left a message with him that he would like to meet his master today concerning his courtship. Balon had come to watch some of the duels before his own with Daemon Blackfyre. He mingled with friends and spoke in hushed tones as to who'd win. Balon hoped Ser Aemon won and cheered as the Great Bastard made quick work of Sebaston. With Lord Florent declaring for Ser Daemon it'd be good to see his kin become the Lord Protector of Kingsbridge and more importantly the Companions. What a force to have on our side he thought as he envisioned a spearhead of Companion knights tearing through royalist infantry.
Balon noticed Daeron Wildfyre moving in the direction of Ser Aemon and his attendants. Good.... good.

Roland shook his head ruefully at what transpired. Bold, but too young to cross steel in such company and such was displayed for all to see.
Given Ser Sebaston's very public humiliation, Roland pondered how Lord Starling would now regard the man as a suitor for Lysette Starling. House Rowan's maester's request that Roland judge Ser Sebaston and speak well of the man to Lord Starling was also cast in to doubt, as both Roland and his lord placed much stock in martial prowess.
Still, Ser Aemon was among the Reach's foremost champions and Ser Sebaston would fight alongside Roland in the melee. The man had slipped further behind Ser Aemon in the race for Lysette's hand, but Roland was determined to give the younger knight a fair chance.

Did you ever see someone attempt something and see the fail so hard and suffer such humiliation that for a moment, you feel as if it was your failure and your humiliation? Knowing very well how many of the Reach's finest outmatched him with sword in hand, the moment the Sport of Summer seized to be, he would risk suffering the same fate and humiliation.
Titus claps for Ser Aemon's victory but half-hearted so, wanting to race off to the training grounds to ensure this never happened to him.
