For a man of Ser Brynden Rivers' reputation, he seems quite relaxed and leisurely, discussing the virtues of a painting with one of his many hangers on. Maybe he just likes art, more likely speaking of something else entirely. "I understand that you found a leak in the dam, my lord." He says as Alliser approaches, not even turning, as if he has eyes in the back of his head.

"Indeed I have Ser Brynden" Alliser draws up next to the young Knight. He stares at the same painting, trying to decipher what the great bastard is seeing, "although there is a burning question I have regarding the legitimacy of a certain Lord's heir's. Perhaps I could trade what I know for that question being answered?"

"Which lord would that be? Claims of illegitimacy appears to be in fashion like never before"

Alliser let's out a chuckle, "you are very correct in that assessment Ser. Specifically I'm looking into the Cordwayner's. Ser Norman may have set the matter to rest with the strength of his arm, but both of us know that the poor Knight who he savaged was no way his equal, and the Gods have been very busy if late, with all the Shepparding they have had to do this tournament. I was wondering if you could look into the facts of the matter for me."

"That is not exactly how I would describe Ser Garth Redwyne of the Kingsguard, or remembered that particular joust" Bloodraven gives Alliser a puzzled expression. "But were it any other Ser Garth that I can think of as of this moment, I have no doubt that savaged would be the right word"
"Now, to what interest would the faithfulness of Lady Maegelle be to you, my lord? Ah, some arrangement with Lady Alicent I expect, she has taken a liking to Ser Roland, but to what end? Merely wishing to replace the present Lady Cordwayner with one indebted to you? Or do I sense a larger objective?"

"An indebted Lady Alicient Cordwayner would be a boon. But also having Lord Eldon free to marry it's the happier part if that arrangement for me. Especially now that he has decided to despoil himself so that other Lord's would be loathe to have their daughters attached to him," He offers as explanation.
"Although I'm sure you realize that and where just testing to see how honest I am being with you. Trust me in this Ser, if rather steal a cub from a she bear then lie to one as connected as yourself." He gives Ser Bryden a once over, "although in truth there is another thing I might ask, although I have little more to offer you for it besides the reward of putting pressure between my Lord and his new friends bittersteel and Lord Peake."

"Ser Orton Ambrose is the man I think most likely to have your answers, his response to my discreet inquiries suggests that he either knows the truth and will not speak of it, or else that he wants others to believe that he does. Ordinarily, I would pry, but that might mean dealing with Lord Durwell, and I would only do that if my objective is worth the price he would set, in my experience, he likes to ask for something that seems of little consequence to you, but then it typically turns out that it was him that got the best bargain by far." He shakes his head. "That may not be an issue for you, my lord, the shifting fortunes of houses in other parts of the Reach might not be felt at The Tear, but the Realm has no such luxury."
