Laena sat amidst a collection of flesh-sacks, who were competing to be the most useless.
They had but a single purpose (well, for a woman, anyway): they gossiped. Constantly. Not with any point, no grand scheme behind it, just mindless spreaders of scandal. She wanted to exorcise her constant fury through action, but results depended that she keep to her plan. So she keeps a vapid smile on her face, and waits.
After half an eternity of enduring inanities, Laena finally has the opportunity she came here for.
"Well, you know the situation with Lady Johanna Meadows? Keeping her son suspiciously close, and driving her late husband's family away? Well, I managed to uncover the reason behind it." She smiles triumphantly.
"Four and ten years ago, she was at court in King's Landing, while her husband was not. It is then interesting to note that a mere seven months after her return, she gave birth to her son, 'Lord' Lucas, who has platinum hair not found in any of his supposed ancestors." She toys with her own hair meaningfully. "What a shock, then, that her husband fell 'ill' shortly thereafter, leaving Lady Johanna with everything." Her tone is one of withering sarcasm. "No wonder she drove away her late husband's family afterwards."
"It's because of so-called ladies like her, who gain everything when their husband dies, that I have to suffer slander, when my husband dies unexpectedly, losing me everything."

Once her job is done, she waits a polite period of time, then makes her excuses and leaves.
