Ser Aerion Baratheon is a tall and massive barrel chested man, with arms thicker with muscle than the thighs of an ordinary man, despite his age, he seems to have kept himself in extraordinary shape. "Lord Alliser" he greets expectantly.

"Ah Ser Baratheon" Alliser bring's out a charming smile, "well met. I was hoping I could find you here." He gestures down towards the stage, "it is some interesting entertainment to be sure." He brings his hands back, folding them gently, "although not nearly as interesting as the upcoming melee, I would say."
Alliser offers an open gesture towards the large Lord, "and I hear you're one of the captains, congratulations on that. I'm sure your joust will be over the singers sing paise of in the coming years." Alliser says, trying to stoke the search for glory in the older Knight.

"Nothing special about it, my lord, it's wasn't any breaking of nine lances in the final" Aerion gruffly refers to the epic match that gave Prince Baelor his moniker of Breakspear. Flattery doesn't seem to get anywhere with this one.
He's not a lord, so general custom is to address as knight. And "Lord Baratheon" is absolutely not kosher, Alliser would know this.

he seems not one to be taken by flattery. So perhaps a more direct approach? "well Ser Rennifer Waters preformed well, if not having too much strength. Although in a melee strength can be a great asset, much more do then in a joust even."
He gives the Knight a moment to consider his words before diving further in. "Of course he is not well liked, Ser, but I'm sure that with a strong commander, not like that Lord Merryweather, his considerable talents could be turned to providing whomever takes him on with victory."

"Do you have a point, my lord?"

"indeed. I was wondering if you would take Ser Rennifer Waters onto your team."

"And why would I want that? He snorts. "That man is naught but a glorified sellsword, a dog given knight's spurs so that his master can recline in his pillows instead of standing up for himself"

"true, he might be a hound. But when hunting Lions it is wise to have a few hounds to flush out your quarry? There is little doubt that he is very well skilled and would be most helpful in that task."

"Why would you even want him in the melee in the first place, Lord Alliser? Ser Parmen will ride with his brother, surely. And neither Ser Imry or Ser Robyn or any other of your knights have come asking to join mine" He seems genuinely puzzled as to why Alliser approached him about *this* of all matters. More likely he had expected the sly lord to suggest building alliances across teams or some other machination to secure victory for whichever captain he preferred.

Lord Alliser let's his eyes flash, anger spreading to his words, "I want to see him suffer, Ser Aerion." give him half the truth, something easily sallowed by an honorable Knight. "I am sure you will be able to control his words. However his words towards Lysette reminded me of that foul beasts words towards my daughter. I have a pretty good idea that the knights of Lord starling would love a chance to strike at his foul mouth." He gives a a slight smile, "and after they have expended themselves against your bait, they should be softer against your attacks, meaning that you are more likely to win the tournament Ser."
