Energized from his previous tilt, Daeron showed no dread as he mounted his horse and saluted Lady Shiera Woodwright. Even though he was a Redwyne and had made it this far in the tournament, he was still a naval commander, not a tourney knight, right? Round 5-Wendel Redwyne-KYO: 3d6 13

Ser Wendel may be a naval commander, but he is still a Redwyne, and Redwynes are tough to beat in the joust.
AH 4D+2B Fighting 4D+2B Endurance 4 Full Plate Destrier
Goes noble and considering how Daeron likes to win his jousts, he adds braced.

All but one must lose in the joust, but I don't plan on this being my moment of defeat.Perhaps built up by his own ego from his earlier successes Daeron takes the opposite approach as his opponent, he thunders down the line, almost standing in his saddle as he makes another risky charge, but is rewarded with an explosion of shards and a lance blow that nobody should be able to resist.

Despite Ser Wendel's attempt at caution, both knights are unhorsed! It is to be swords once more, and Daeron has already proven himself most proficient with blade in hand. D7 R5 N,Brace;SiS;CyB: 5d6k3+2 16 6d6k4+3 18 4d6 13PR: 18 AR: 10 Health: 12/12

Ser Wendel drew his sword and was on Ser Daeron swiftly - would this be the end to the Great Bastard's unconventional progress? D7 R5 Agility: 3d6-4 11CD: 9 AR: 10 Health: 11/12

I don't know why other knights bother with any defensive stances when all-out offense is clearly the superior tactic.Sword out, Daeron was ready to engage the Redwyne knight who was bearing down on him. Despite his experience with the joust on the ground, he found himself on the defensive. R5 vs Wendel-Init: 4d6k3-4 10CD: 10 AR: 9 Health: 10/12

Ser Wendel would at least be able to say that he struck a blow against Ser Daeron, but was now left waiting to face the wrath of the dragon. D7 R5 C1 Charge: 5d6k3+1 17 - 2 DoS, 12 Damage - 9 AR = 3 Damage CD: 9 AR: 10 Health: 11/12

Despite his desire for a dominating victory, Ser Wendel was an important member of a powerful family and beating him senseless didn't seem like a good way to make friends. Accepting Ser Wendel's blow on the left side of his ribs, Daeron twists his body leftwards and thrusts his sword underneath his opponent's catching it with his cross-guard. With a twist and flourish of his blade, Ser Wendel's sword goes flying through the air. Daeron takes half a step back, his sword still out, but not in an attack stance. In doing so he was giving Ser Wendel a chance to yield with honor, but if his opponent wanted to retrieve his weapon and continue the duel, he would not interpose. Yeah, that should make him yield.

"Hold Ser, hold ser I yield!"
Ser Wendel held up a hand in surrender and shouted loudly enough for the tourney master and crowd to hear, as the smallfolk roared in appreciation of Daeron's deft maneuver.
He thumped Daeron in the shoulder in congratulations, "You have left me quite becalmed without my sword, well fought Ser."
Ransom surrendered:
Full Plate, Destrier
[/scene for my part
OOC: as helpfully pointed out by Asahra, I shorted Ser Wendel a rolled die in his charge on foot, but it would not have made a difference to DoS. Won't reroll but will remember for next time: too used to doing mounted charges!]

Daeron gives a bow before retrieving Ser Wendel's sword and offers it to him.
"Many thanks Ser Wendel. Perhaps one of these days you could show me your fleet. This scion of House Velaryon misses the salt air."
