Roland felt he had gained some familiarity with the Knight of Hammer's tactics in observing the mystery knight's matches: if he struck true he would have the chance to unmask his fellow knight. As ever, Roland tipped his lance to House Hightower and lady Janna before spurring his mount. D7 R5 Awareness (Tournaments): 5d6k3 16PR: 21 AR: 10 Health: 12/21

The Knight of Hammers would make for a formidable foe in real battle, his horsemanship is too weak to generally be considered a real challenge in the joust, and even if it should come to swords, he wields the blade as if it were a sharp club, but the power he can put behind his swings and lance thrusts is considerable, having left Ser Zachery Blackbar close to death, and Ser Edmyn Norcross had just been killed earlier in the day by his sword. Ser Roland had likely been called upon to ensure that this mystery knight would be involved in no further accidents. Most likely, Roland should win if he can keep his saddle, his odds in a duel by foot would be less favorable.

The inspiration that Lady Janna's favour had bestowed on Roland had not yet left him. His lance had never been more surely placed, as he flamboyantly attempted to emulate Leo Longthorn once more and unmask the mystery knight in a crowd pleasing fashion. For his own part, Roland's position on his steed seemed secure, barring some dramatic mishap. The blow from the lance that Roland has to sustain makes the Knight of Hammers live up to his name, a lesser horseman would be in real trouble to stay in the saddle, on the field of battle, few would likely survive it. But the mystery knight have no chance whatsoever to keep his own saddle, he gets up and removes his helmet revealing himself to be Ser Robyn of the Prince's Pass, better known as the Mauler for his lethal talent with a bludgeon in hand. Not much of a crowd favorite even before he is unmasked, the revelation of him being some common sellsword given spurs since Lord Levalle couldn't get any proper knight to sit at his table until he married off his daughter to get Ser Parmen does not help. Ser Robyn marches off in carefree silence, apparently none too disappointed with his loss, he's done his job and now leaves the field without a word. Roland saluted the sitting Hightowers and nodded at his departing foe as the smallfolk jeered his unpopular but seemingly nonplussed opponent.
Seven be good, his blow would have pierced plate, and on account of force rather than placement! He shall be a terror in the melee.
