Lord Tarly was famously an easy man to respect, but equally infamous as a hard man to like. While he didn't enjoy his son's fine reputation as a jouster, Roland had still taken the time to observe him in earlier rounds to gauge his abilities and likely tactics. Although a noted rival of Ser Symon Tarly from the Dornish campaigns, Roland bore Lord Tarly little personal animosity. He hoped for an easier match after a rash of challenging tilts prompted by challenges. D7 R4 Lord Tarly Awareness (Tournaments): 5d6k3 15PR: 21 Health: 12/12 AR: 10

Lord Alekyne is a competent opponent, though stronger on the field of battle than at the lists. He is not known for any unorthodox tactics.

Roland was naive in many ways, but he knew tournaments. In a format such as this much of a man's fortune relied on being a crowd favourite, so he dared a repeat of the showboating he had attempted in earlier rounds. Once more, Janna Hightower's favour guided his lance truly, while he kept his own saddle firmly. Lord Alekyne rides exeptionally well on this day, and somehow keeps his seating despite Rolands great strike. His own lance hits ser Rolands shield hard, but it causes few concerns for the young knight. After the impressive feat of Ser Roland, Lord Alelyne still admits defeat, although he remained saddled.

Roland dismounted, bowing to Lord Tarly after the man remained ahorse despite losing his helm from Roland's clean strike.
"By the Seven, well ridden my lord!" he shouted, his amazement sincere.
Mayhap the man would not prove so difficult to like after all.
[Roland's disposition towards Lord Tarly improves by two points, to Amiable.]
