Then so it is. Lord Leo decides to take on Aerion Baratheon, and Lord Karl with his regular bravado strikes the shield of Prince Maekar for a rematch against Ser Tywin, the rest decides against taking their chances. Roland vs Fireball will be a three tilt short format special match before all the other matches, Fireball wins he gets Roland's spot in the joust, Roland wins he gets the captaincy, in the event of a draw, victory will not be awarded, either contestant may challenge the other to swords (from horseback) to settle the matter, fight until yield or falling off the horse (there is no particular expectation of challenging or not challenging, the crowd does love that sort of thing, of course), otherwise both keep their respective positions. (Cunning(logic) TN 9 is enough to suspect that someone might have stacked those rules to favor Fireball retaining his captaincy, since they were only announced after the challenges were made). Ser Roland suspected little of any chicanery ahead of his rematch with Fireball himself, it would have to fall to greater minds to unpick the matter and inform him of such, if he could be convinced to believe such talk. Still, he was familiar with his foe and had a good guess at his likely tactics. Fireball is not quite as good as Roland at the list, notably pragmatic in his choice of tactics and not one to expose himself for the chance of a quick or spectacular victory. He is likely to prioritize retaining his captaincy and take no risk for a chance to get back into the joust. He appears to have borrowed one of the finest steeds in House Peake's stables.

Ser Quentyn gives as good as he gets, but his seat in the saddle seems not quite so firm. But he appears very determined to keep it.

It briefly looked as if destiny would take a hand, and that a slip by Fireball's borrowed steed would compensate for unusually poor horsemanship on the great knight's part. Alas, the moment proved fleeting, and a promising clash was over with two thumping blows just as it began.
[OOC: I'll spend a destiny point too, cancelling his, which means he fails his SiS roll and is unhorsed. In part this is because I don't fancy my luck in future rounds against an effective Fight 6! Unlucky roll for him on the SiS check.]

So that's Full Plate, Superior Destrier for ransom and a captaincy.
