Ser Gwayne of Longtable... Parmen knew little about the man, other than that he was sworn to Longtable and thus to Lord Eldon. However he had watched in the previous round as Ser Gwayne had unhorsed the well-regarded Ser Lyonel. Clearly the knight was not to be taken lightly. KYO: KYO Ser Gwayne: Awareness role: 3d6 14

Ser Gwayne defeating Ser Lyonel was a small upset, though no greater than what it would be if he were to best Ser Parmen as well. A reminder of what could happen to even the best jouster if he let his guard down for just a second.

Ser Gwayne was not the mightiest or wealthiest of the Longtable knights, but he was hungry. He had already beaten the odds once in this tourney, and with a wolfish grin he spurs on his horse, hungry for another. However, today was not the day for his victory. Even as he gave a solid blow of his own, his position in the saddle was unstable and Ser Parmen's lance brought him low.

It was over almost as soon as it began.
He did not ride back to check on Ser Gwayne but did offer his foe a brief salute with his gauntleted right hand. His Lord may be a false knight but he rode a fair tilt. I can give him that much...
Riding back past the cheering crowds he bowed and saluted to acknowledge Lord Starling and his daughter. Dismounting and handing Tempest's reigns to his squire he received young Edwin's effusive praise and, more surprisingly, some praise from his brothers. There had been distance between himself and his older brothers since he had married into House Levalle, but today at least they were united in a common cause. Parmen would likely not be the only Redwyne to ride against the knights of Lord Mayweather, but he was the first and woe to anyone who questioned the honor or capabilities of a son of the Arbor.
