"Indeed I have found a champion, Ser Daemon blackfyre felt the need to stand against Ser Bracken. So I have no need if your sword nor your name, merely your mind." The look of surprise on his face is real as Daeron almost spit his wine out at the mention of Blackfyre. He expected a strong and notable champion, but not The Warrior himself.
"A mighty and worthy champion indeed. I can think of no better knight to clear your name than my brother. A toast, to Blackfyre, long may he bring justice to the realms."
Daeron's toast is loud enough to be heard by half of the inn, and as he lifts his glass he looks around to make sure others present saw him (and presumably Lord Alliser) toasting Blackfyre.
Settling down, he responds to Lord Alliser's question.
"Aye, it was a popular game at Driftmark, but there we called it Cyvasse. My maester tried to teach me the subtleties of the game, but I always wanted to just use my dragons for everything. I liked the idea of cutting through the enemy lines, but my strategy rarely worked as I got tied down by the other pieces."
His hand hovers over the board as he considers his first move.

"To Blackfyre," He lifts his own dark ceramic glass and clinks it against Daerons during the toast. Is it little wonder that the dragonblooded would be drawn to the dragon? "Indeed, the dragon is the favorite of many a player, and to not use it is to hobble ones own effectiveness." He taps the dragon piece, "But how do you loose such a powerful piece? By leaving it undefended right?" he asks, a smile cutting through his thin goateed lips. day 5 Drinks on me persuasion convince +chiv+RT+DR: 7d6k5+4 263 DOS x 3 = 9 - 5 = 4 damage to composure ID 16 Composure 9/9 (10 from +1 due to spending) Frustration 0/3 Dr 3

He picks up his dragon and immediately takes an elephant. “Dragons win wars, true dragons. You don’t see a maester or Septon piece on this board, and it’s always best to be on the winning side. However, my maester always told me that dragons also protected their own. Tell me Lord Levalle, how many of the red dragons offered their blades to defend your honor? I saw neither Baelor nor Maekar could be bothered to risk their princely skin to stand up against an unchivalrous brute, but Blackfyre put his neck on the line. When the realm is divided and steel is drawn, who do you think you’ll be able to count upon, those who offer empty paeans of support or those who act?”

"and a dragon on its own can be blinded by it's in power." He placed his last elephant within easy striking range of the dragon, a tempting target for the young dragon.

He pauses for a moment, not because he had to consider his move, but because he felt that Lord Alliser's metaphors were beginning to escape him. "I'm not sure that I'm following what you're trying to say anymore. However, I feel that I am clear when I say that your house cannot survive the status quo. Without a change in the realm you will face stagnation and lose your opportunities to advance itself. It is clear that the present king has no love for you or your kin and will work to actively undermine you, and without Blackfyre, there will be nobody left to protect you."

He chuckles, "Indeed I have been cast aside, far from the position I once held at court. But I do doubt the Ser Daemon will be in any more need of my services that I provided his father then King Daeron." A faint look of sadness flashes in his eyes, but he continues, "No it can not thrive in the status quo, but to throw my lot in with Blackfyre could very well mean the end of myself and my line. You yourself have mentioned that the king holds no great love for me, and if steel is drawn the king will seek to reward those who stayed loyal to him. We are a young house, and could easily be extinguished for someone more loyal to the king. That said, who is to say those that move behind the blood dragon will not do the same should we not declare." Lord Alliser takes a deep draught of wine, "And who is to say those that move behind the scenes truly have the princes interests at heart?" He clears his throat, then lowers his voice, "Perhaps they seek to lead the dragon to war, to take back the power that was lost to them from king Aerys reign? From what I hear Ser Daemon is a good knight, but a good knight does not always wish to lead and knows the strength of being able to follow. Plus there are always leaders and followers in this world." He smiles, "there is nothing wrong with that. The problem is being a fool, such men offer both the leader and follower no end of head pain."
Yield: Consider that not all men are good additions to the cause; Alliser will consider the benefits of joining the bloods

The only pieces of his left on the board were his king and his dragon while the canny lord still had plenty more. Though the game wasn’t technically over, he had won, a dragon alone couldn’t protect a king against an army.
“I think I understand what you mean Lord Levalle. Thank you for your time, I believe that we both can leave here feeling more enlightened.”
He picks up his onyx dragon and places it in the lord’s hands before preparing to depart.
Yield accepted. Daeron will more discerning on who he attempts to recruit to the Fire cause.

"indeed we can. Talking with people is a good way to gain insight, for no matter how clever a Lord may think he is, eyes that can see a different perspective will offer possibilities potentially parting from the original propose." He gives a smile towards the young Knight. "If you will a different perspective, may I suggest you seek out the colorfully yet oddly dressed Man who is my seneschal. A wise man searches for many different opinions, and he certainly has a way of thinking about the world different then I've met before."
He gestures towards the board, "should you ever seek a rematch, I will gladly provide it was well. It's not every day I get to match with with a dragon such as yourself. " Honeyed words, but maybe what a passionate young Knight seeks?
