Ser Thoren Oldflowers gives all he has in a mad desperate dash for glory against Lord Tyrell, the longthorn sweeps him off in a dazzling display. Ser Martyn Storm, Lord Levalle's master at arms, is also unlucky with the draw, against Redtusk it goes exactly as one would expect. Lord Walgrave Oakheart is matched against Lord Willem Starling, surely to "teach him a lesson" about riding with such aggression the day before almost offers the biggest upset so far this tourney. Had his lance been just half an inch to the right, Lord Starling would surely have taken the blow harmlessly on his shield, and the Lord of Kingsbridge delivered a much better reply. However, their accomplishments as riders appears to have switched places momentarily, Lord Walgrave appears to retain his seat in the saddle with an impressive effort, Lord Willem is about to fall off. Perhaps the rude and early awakening is to blame? Or his thoughts lies elsewhere? But at the last moment, their fortunes reverse, somehow Lord Willem finds his seat when all seems lost, and Lord Walgrave's seat appears to suddenly become slippery. So close to an upset, but the crowd is provided that which they were just denied as Ser Dennis Hightower falls to the lance of Ser Selmond Footly in the first tilt. Lord Karl Willum advertises halfway to the wall that he wants the helm of Ser Lewyn Redwyne, the master at arms at Highgarden chose his strategy accordingly, but the brash young lord gets the helmet anyway, and Ser Lewyn congratules him on the victory. [Oh...what the heck, Lord Willem spends his one DP to turn things around. It's not as if someone most likely to insist on personally doing trial by combat if it comes to that should hold on to it, right?]

Lord Owen Roxton vs Lord Pearce Caron clashes mightly together in one of the more anticipated matches this round, they should be evenly matched, and so it looks like, but Lord Pearce manages to aim just good enough to bring his opponent out of his seat. Ser Imry Levalle lands such a heavy blow upon the chest of Ser Samwell Rowan that he is almost ripped out of his saddle and some in the crow worry for the worst when he does not get back up under his own power, though he appears to be allright, if unconscious when carried off the field. Lord Addison Appleton and Ser Damon Peake both break all their lances and keep their seats throughout the three tilts, but Ser Damon is clearly the more skillful of the two, and is awarded the victory. Ser Aubrey Ambrose may be among the better swordsmen of the Reach, but he is not so strong in the joust and is unhorsed by Ser Florian Mooton. Ser Farman Flowers makes short work of Lord Cordwayner, dodging the lance of his opponent and himself planting it so well that there is no need for a second joust. Ser Lyonel Baratheon seems to hold the upper hand against Ser Symon Starkwood, but the young heir from the northernmost corner of the reach puts up a monumental effort in the third and final tilt to claw himself to a square draw, both knights will be seen in the next round. Lord Donnel Arryn and Prince Maekar also fight to a draw, with the Lord of the Vale maybe riding a little bit better. Of the matches watched with some interest, all but one goes exactly as expected, the seasoned Ser Lyonel finds himself unhorsed at the hands of Ser Gwayne of Longtable, a knight of little renown sworn to Lord Eldon
