While the knights are busy jousting, the ladies are watching in the stands, commenting on their favorites, and any other topic of interests. PC's are highly encouraged to set up role-playing scenes over this theme.
This a rather open event, meant to give the opportunity for the more subtle manipulation that the more gentle gender may have upon the martial world of men. Or simply be used as a way to achieve some other agenda, participation is voluntarily, and you may engage is as many of these activities as you wish, you may also suggest other ideas as well.
This event is primarily for characters with a positive virtue score, though if the narrator finds it reasonable, it may be open for other characters not taking part in any jousting for day 5.
1. "Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match."
There isn't so much opportunity to meet that dashing knight up in the stands, seeing as they are too busy jousting and all, but without their presence, ladies talk, an interesting pastime is to suggest that a knight and a lady might be a match made in the seven heavens. You may attempt to put out a rumor requiring Persuasion (Convince) or Deception (Bluff) TN 15, it is not all that easy to make it stick given the amount of speculation floating about, you may not involve yourself or someone in your house as the suggested couple. Alternatively, you might try to make the heart of a specific fellow lady flutter about someone by simple intrigue using convince or seduce (DoS, typically seduce will have stronger immediate effects but convince will be longer lasting), if this lady is outside your own household, you must also succeed on a status(breeding) against her passive status(reputation) to be given the opportunity.
2. "Oh, what a handsome knight!"
The crowd has it's favorites, but there's always trendsetters among them. It requires a Persuasion (Convince) or Deception (Bluff) TN 18, with the knight's chivalry score as a bonus to sway the crowd in his favor. This does not work with a knight from your own family or household, or one riding for your honor or with your favor (or for someone else in your household), most ladies does exactly that. A crowd favorite tends to receive easier opponents as the tourney master catches on to the desire to see him advance, though sometimes the "wrong" favorite might find himself with his odds stacked against him.
3. "Boooh!"
The other way around, you may use Persuasion (Incite) or Deception (bluff) against TN 12+target's chivalry to create the opposite effect. Note however that it is not easy to avoid being found out as the source of such ill talk.
4. "You know, you would better attract the attention of the valiant knights if you...."
Ladies can be nasty bitches, their words cutting deep. Other times they prey upon the insecurity of recently flowered maids to make them do something stupid. Typically a simple intrigue (taunt) against the highest of intrigue defense and passive will(courage or dedication) suffices.
5. "That makes me so jealous!"
If one really feels like taking revenge upon some slight (or just didn't feel like being done being mean), there are other options, that perhaps by proxy, stealth and thievery can make for spectacular humiliation like no other, though TN's can also be very high, depending on just how spectacular an outcome is desired.
