"Hey, Lord Spongeholder!"Alliser hears the thunderous voice of Otho Bracken as he leaves the stands with his wife. Most people seems to be in a very quick hurry to get out of his way. More than one knight braces themselves to intervene if necessary. "Yes, you! Oh, and the Lady Delena, or should I say madame Levalle? How many times did you wash your whore of a wife and bring her to your king's ed? At least four I am thinking. He hardly speaks softly, but he makes a dramatic circuit of addressing the gathering crowd with a shout. For I can't for the life of me imagine that you could perform any better with your fleshy little lance than with the wooden one that you're not man enough to wield properly." "I wonder, did the king let you watch and milk your one eyed eel when he put all those bastards in her belly?" He stops to admire Lady Delena before leaving, and not in a chivalrous way. "The king must have enjoyed you, come to my tent tonight if you miss bedding a real man." Then he turns away to leave, Alliser can feel dozens of eyes upon him, awaiting his response.
Just to be perfectly clear, he just insulted Alliser, his wife and their children so savagely that all six of them will get a chivalry/virtue hits if nobody answers with a challenge, but Imry is sure to step up and do so if nobody else does, so Alliser would have to issue it himself if he wants to control the situation. I'll be leaving it up to Alliser how he wants to play it, if he issues a challenge, PC's can certainly volunteer to stand (not necessarily in this scene, word will spread pretty fast) and it should not be too difficult to get some high-profile NPC's to come forward either, Lord Tyrell is likely to only allow longswords and tourney lances, but standard jousting restrictions (and tourney knight) will not apply since Otho isn't in the joust anymore, and who knows if he'll obey the directives of his host.

Lord Alliser had expected this, he knew as soon as he opened his mouth that this was the likely reaction. "Otho," He says cuttingly, "You have proven by your actions to lack the honor expected of a knight. You have shamed all of us with your hateful targeting of Mikel of Harroway, proving him to be the more noble opponent. Your words are wind, but nonetheless require a response."
Lord Alliser walks forward, doffing his black deerskin glove he throws it down in front of Otho.
"your woods stink of the stench of a Latirne, but that should be of little surprise regarding the rumors I hear about where you place your lips." Lord Alliser knew that it was not true, but he also knew that with his reputation that the words would probably find more purchase then coming from a more noble knight. "The challenge has been issued, Otho, and I do hope you keep your stinking words of a cur away from my family in the future."

Ser Otho picks up the glove and stuffs into a tight ball in his hand. "Shall we say tomorrow, then? We should not keep your wife waiting longer than necessary to be freed from your bed."After he walks away, Ser Aubrey Ambrose does not hesitate to draw his sword and to go down on one knee, his blade held downward facing in front of him, it's tip resting on the ground. "If my lord so wishes, I would be honored to lend my blade to his cause" One of the finest knight in the realm, as gallant and well regarded as he is capable with sword in hand, Lord Alliser's cause is served well by this man being the first to volunteer, his renown alone is likely the main cause as one knight after another follows his example, perhaps mostly because they know that they certainly will not be picked over him, the first man to join him is, Lord Karl Willum having sprinted near fifty yards to volunteered. "As would I! I call any true man to volunteer and be the champion of the Seven against the vile Brute of Bracken!" He bellows enthusiastically, older and wiser folk might wonder if he even realizes how dangerous a duel with Ser Otho can be. At least a dozen knights joins them.

Ser Parmen walks up his usually smiling face screwed tight with anger. He was not sitting next to Lord Alliser but Ser Otho was braying so loud they could have probably heard him at the Wall. His hand clenches his sword hard enough that his knuckles show white.
"My Lord all know how hot the blood can run during a tournament but the Brute's insults demand a response. For the love I bear your daughter allow me to serve you tomorrow."

Lord Alliser places a hand over his heart and quietly says to those gathered around offering their sword's, "I am greatly honored at my Lord's offer's. Let me confer with my counsel and I will let you know when I have reached a decision."
Rasing his voice to address the crowd, "these knights here show the true strength and valor of the seven. The God's frown upon the actions of Otho Bracken and have shown their displeasure by having so many honest and true men of the seven to face the blackguard." I had an idea that there would be some, buy this has exceeded even my expectations.

"Ser Otho Bracken."Daeron's voice booms across the Tourney Grounds as the knight strides towards the Brute of Bracken, still clad in his armor from the joust. "You disrespect yourself, your kin, and your kin's kin. Apologize to Lord Levalle, pay an appropriate ransom to Ser Mikel, and conduct yourself with honor for the remainder of this tourney, or you will face consequences."Daeron's fury is terrible and palpable. The past few days had dealt too many blows to the reputation of the Blackfyre cause and Otho's attempt to maim or murder a random knight, barely out of the hedge, was what finally set him off. With his hands resting on his hips, inches away from his blade, it is completely clear what his intentions are and the consequences he has to offer. Daeron is by no means a pushover, but Ser Otho is built like an ox, broad of shoulder and arms thicker than the thighs of the average man. A weak voice of reason tries to tell Daeron that maybe this is not a fight he would want to pick. "The line of lambs so willing to be slaughtered is over there if you want to join their ranks." He growls, making no move to stop.
Objective: Get Daeron the fuck out of his way. Note that you can't really achieve much here, at most get him to be on his good behavior for a while, but you can't make him publicly take back any of his words he just said. ID: 24 (After this display, it's +12 to try and make him back down even a little bit in view of everyone). Composure: 11 DR: 4 Intrigue Iniative: 6d6k4 16Free action: breeding: 6d6k4 17 +1b that can be spent on a single persuasion test. You don't get GB bonus on your own iniative, so at most you get 15 there, you're also forgetting your chivalry bonuses to various stuff. Intimidate: 6d6k4+2 18 is 2 DoS for 6 influence before DR

*The extra 1D for init came from my Blood of Valyria quality which makes my effective Status 5. I’ll target good behavior since it’s obvious that’s all I’ll be able to achieve.*

BoV doesn't give you +1D, derived statistics (like intrigue defense) and effects (like determing if you can do simple intrigue or be simple intrigued against) that depends on status rank is affected.

*I think I've got everything straightened out now. Disposition is dislike, so that should balance out my +2 chivalry modifier for Persuasion. Looks like I scored 0 points against his composure though. Now that I'm in it, I'm seeing why this intrigue isn't going to go anywhere.*
"Words are like arrows, once unleashed they are difficult to take back."
Had Daeron been a prophet, he might have been able to deescalate the situation by confronting Ser Otho beforehand, but there was no way that the Bracken knight was going to back down now, especially with so many watching. His only options were to convince Bittersteel to leash his dog, highly unlikely, or to defeat him, still pretty unlikely.
"It looks like I'm about to get a limb broken over some lord whose only accomplishment has been to grow the size of my family."
"Very well Ser Otho, may you have the best of luck in your duel without your armor or horse."
Parting shots fired, Ser Daeron joins the host of knights offering their swords to Lord Levalle in an effort to show that there are members of the Fire faction that are willing to uphold chivalry and justice, even when it involves fighting one of their own.
Crunch: *I'm quitting the intrigue based on the futility.*

"Thought so." He says mostly to himself as he keeps his pace back to the Bracken encampment.

Lord Alliser eyes Ser Daeron as he comes up and volunteers his sword. I wonder...

Roland was compelled by both knightly honour and his friendship with Ser Mikel to accept, but suspected the right to defeat Ser Otho would rightly go to Ser Parmen Redwyne, given his higher standing and relation by marriage. Still, his conversation with Laena and his own conviction compelled him to offer his sword, even if Lord Levalle himself was a distasteful fellow. D4 Careful What you Wish For Will: 3d6 11[OOC: sent Parmen and Alliser a message on this OOC. Failed TN 12 will roll so I think I have to volunteer.]
