Ser Donnel walks the empty halls that were so full the night before. How much better it looks without the people. Everything is not perfect, however, he finds plenty of maids mopping the floor after the decadence of the night before. Speaking to the one who looks to be in charge he tells. "Excuse me! I am Ser Donnel, I am here to speak to maester Perwyn." As Soon as he speaks, a young maid jumps up to show him the way. When Ser Donnel meets Maester Perwyn in his study, he is amazed at the numbers of books. How can one man read all these? With newfound respect, Ser Donnel tells the maester: "Excuse me, Maester, could I have a moment of your time?" Status reputation to see maester perwyn: 5d6k3+6 19

Ser Donnel, what can I do for you? Given that the joust is about to begin, he is likely very busy right now, trying to get as much as he can out of the way before he must be at hand to treat injuries.

"I need you to tell me what poison was used to kill lord Jon." Ser Donnel senses the urgency in the other mans voice and keeps it brief.

"To what end, ser? Do you not think we already have scoured Gardenton for any who might have supplied it?" He raises an eyebrow and begins to skim another document, seemingly having already decided that Ser Donnel is just another well intended knight that would just make a lot of noise and get in the way of those who knows what they are doing.

"I know a lord well versed in everything merchantile. We just need you to tell him what he is looking for and he will look from the wall to the summer isles. We are both busy men, can't we just save a bit of time? We both get what we want?"

"And you know this lord's motivations?" Lord Blackbriar is likely not considered to be among those interested. "If all these selfish lords would give up their own investigations for personal gain, we could have had a real chance of tracking down those responsible, instead they disturb the trail, take evidence for themselves and alert those on the run."

"I may not know all of his plans, nor do I care. I do, however, know him to be a man capable of solving this. And he knows that if he gets on the wrong side of me, he has a tenacious enemy who will not be stopped from revenge unless he intends to poison me dead! I ask for the name of the poison, no risk of the killers learning anything new, presuming they knew what poison they were using themselves." Ser Donnel gives a wry smile at his attempted humor: "You know me by reputation, I do not seek personal gain. I seek only to aid. Give me this small good faith, and I will not rest until the family of lord Jon knows that his death is settled."

"Well, I wish you good luck nonetheless." Ser Donnel leaves before he says anything stupid. You better pray that me and Allister does not figure anything out, or I will be excplicit in how disruptive you were.
No, that would be petty, a true knight rises above such things. After a longwinded discussion with himself, halfway back to the Blackbriar camp Ser Donnel abruptly stops. Unless that Maester isnt hiding this to be annoying, perhaps he brewed the poison himself?
Ser Donnel shakes his head. This is no good. I share my thoughts with lord Levalle, then he will know the answers.
