Finally the long wait is over and lords and knights rides over to their chosen ladies to ask for favors to wear, the anticipation can very much be felt in the air.
So Basically, what follows in this thread are the narrative IC outcomes of the Steel and Ribbons events, characters are free to post their reactions and interactions here (I'll be linking relevant posts to people's private forums so that they do not miss it). Shiera will give her favor to Donnel and I am not going to bother writing that scene. Note that anything dealing with event mechanics and the relevant dice rolls should go into the original event threads.

Lady Ashara already haven given out her favor to wear to her intended does not attract as much attention as perhaps she could have wished, and being half-dornish cannot exactly be said to help her case. Nevertheless, she finds herself approached by Lords Manderly and Hayford as well as Ser Lyonel of the Cockleswent all offering to ride in her honor. 3x knights of status 4+ for your honor, maybe a few more nameless and insignificant ones of status 3 Lady Lysette finds herself with perhaps too many choices, one Great Bastard and four sons of Lord Tyrell's chief bannermen, good jousters all, some of them remarkably so, and one is widely regarded as the finest knight in the Reach. Relevant info, ordered as a "mindless" NPC would have selected: Ser Aemon Flowers AC3, status 5, 4 DoS scored. Ser Roland Redwyne CH1, status 4, 3 DoS scored. Ser Sebaston Rowan C2, status 4, 2 DoS scored. Ser Simon Tarly 2, status 4, 2 DoS scored. Ser Randyll Peake 4, status 4, 1 DoS scored. Additionally, there's three knights of status 4 (but otherwise fairly unremarkable) willing to ride in your honor, sure they'd take your favor too, but they're nowhere near the caliber of the above. Ser Thoren Oldflowers Ser Kevan Stackhouse Ser Selmond Footly
Lady Laena had perhaps hoped for more, though her "catch" probably didn't fall too short of expectations. A kingsguard is always nice, otherwise there are several lords, including Lord Bryce Bridges and an interesting surprise in Ser Manfryd Grimm, a sworn sword of Lord Marq, a grizzled veteran with marks of battle on his face and a very good jouster even by the standards of the Reach, perhaps a small token of his esteem, it is not unthinkable that Ser Manfryd can proceed far into the competition, at least much less so than for Laena to consider allowing him to ride for anything more than her honor. Relevant info, ordered as a "mindless" NPC would have selected: Lord Bryce Bridges 4, status 5, 4 DoS scored. Ser Willem Wylde CH3, status 5, 3 DoS scored. Lord Addison Appleton 4, status 5, 2 DoS scored. Lord Armond Caswell 5, status 5, 1 DoS scored. Lord Pearce Caron CM3, status 4 (honor only) Ser Manfryd Grimm 3, status 3.

Lady Ysilla is about to give her favor to the gallant Ser Kyle, who impressed her the most, when Ser Otho Bracken can't help himself, but take a swing at Ser Mikel "Hah! Seems like she doesn't want a little shit like you as her champion, and who in the seven hells would want to? It should be Ser Mikel the cowardly lying fraud!" Clearly he enjoys himself very much, more obviously he is fishing for Mikel to demand satisfaction. At that moment Lady Ysilla just looks at him with annoyance. "Oh, it's the Blustering Bracken, nobody likes you, now shoo!" She delivers it like a child feeling all superior and mean. Then she ties her ribbon around Ser Mikel's arm, much to the chagrin of Ser Kyle. "Will my lady not give me a chance to contest for her favor?" His plea is both reasonable and courteous, in contrast to "The Blustering Bracken", getting even more worked up now that she has baited him. "I WILL PROVE TO MY LADY AND EVERYONE ELSE THAT THIS LOWBORN PISSPOT IS WORTH LESS THAN THE SHIT FROM MY HORSE, AND CERTAINLY NOT ONE TO TRUST WITH A SILKEN RIBBON!"So Mikel has the favor, right now, but will he keep it, or avoid a duel for it? We shall see. Malcolm has all options available to him. Edit: Otho Bracken doesn't get to ride for her honor, but he taunts Mikel to insult him nonetheless: orokos.com/roll/642810 technically he can't challenge for the favor anyore, but he's still delivering a nasty insult that honor demands that Mikel answer with a challenge.

The knights of the Reach are practically lining up to vie for the Seastar's favor, and she clearly enjoys the attention and handles in a fashion that even ladies twice as old and experienced would find it difficult. Ser Tywing Lannister decides to only ride for her honor, leaving it to the younglings to settle the conundrum. Bittersteel and Bloodraven, but mostly it is Bittersteel, seems to lay claim to everyone's attention, or at least drowning out all other voices. "Oh, would you two please stop acting as if the only matter of concern in Westeros is whether or not they're called Barbra's or Missy's Teets? I am sure the tourney master can be quite accomodating in letting you two have another go at seeing which is most fortunate this week, and maybe, if I am in a good mood, I may put in a word to him about whoever is the victor perhaps should have a chance at this." She dangles a ribbon in front of them before pushing it down between her breasts, a somewhat complex act given the relatively modest cut of her gown "Meanwhile, I would very much give this noble lord over there...." She gestures to Lord Leygood. "And this gallant knight here." She leans forward to stroke Ser Aerion across his thigh. "The chance to win my blue and green scarf."When you're Shiera Seastar, the common traditions does not so readily apply to you. But it's easy enough to make everyone want to see Bloodraven and Bittersteel duke it out. Aerion will be up against Lord Leygood if he does not back down, maybe with a bonus duel against another challenger.

Who the hell am I going to ask? He remembered his conversation with Ser Roland earlier in the day and suddenly he knew what to do. Lady Denyse had been the target of vicious slander and she'd become somewhat of a pariah. Ser Roland had assured him the rumors were false and it seemed Balon had few choices left. Plus she is quite attractive. If the rumors are true I wouldn't mind her lifting her skirt... right over my head.He approached the golden hair beauty and bowed. "My lady I come seeking your favor. I, Ser Balon, would be honored to wear the favor of a pious and virtuous lady." "Ah, good Ser Balon, the honor would unquestionably be mine." She speaks the words as courteous as any lady should, but her eyes have others, though hard to read, especially if one's attention is drawn towards other features of her appearance. "So, this is the leftovers from these bloody bitches that resolves to slander? Oh, well at least he's not so low pickings as Lord Walgrave's half-dornish bastard brother." "Though if a knight would wish to make me truly happy, he would uncover whoever is behind these horrid lies and expose them to all the realm."One favor for Ser Balon

Ellyn Levalle offers her favor to Ser Robyn Rhysling, Ser Addam is perfectly allowed to ride in her honor. Janna Hightower seems to be in some thought before offering her favor to Ser Roland, nobody appears willing to challenge the decision, perhaps not too interested in facing such a skilled foe early on, Ser Normyn, however, starts looking around for other options. Amelia Hewett offers her favor to Ser Vardis of Kingsbrdge, while inviting Ser Cleyton to ride in her honor. Prior interactions does indeed matter, also helps being a noted favorite.
Addam and Cleyton may attempt a challenge or seek other options.

Lady Amerei Tyrell watches in horror as all the finest knight in the realm veers off to court others, Lady Lysette, Lady Shiera, but most of all Lady Tanda, oh she gets Ser Daemon and the two princes to offer to ride in her honor, as is only right and proper, this is after all *her* tournament. But the unwed knights of great renown? Oh, Lady Lysette, the witch, oh, look at me, I get to chose from some of the best knights in the realm. Fuck her. Fuck them all. What does she get? Weakling Ser Abelar Hightower, Ser Aubrey Ambrose? Ser Aubrey Ambrose is good enough for a little bitch like lady Janna, oh look at me, fake fire in my hair, but no, she snatches Ser Roland Cordwayner. Most of all, Lady Tanda earns her higher, she who must have opened her legs for Lord Marq, how else to explain it. He was hers this very morning, Amerei is sure of it. She must have seduced him, put a spell on him, whored herself out to steal him. This is *my* tournament and I will not have it! At the very least, she could get one back by snatching Ser Robb Reyne from her clutches. Surely the favor of a proper lady must beat that of a false. Their eyes meet, oh yes, little bitch, now I have a champion that is better than yours.Dispositions between Tanda and Amerei drops by -3. Aladale may ride in Lady Tanda's favor. Marq gains Tanda's favor. Amerei snatches Robb Reyne from Tanda.

Aerion will be up against Lord Leygood if he does not back down, maybe with a bonus duel against another challenger. Aerion watches the display intently, never taking his eyes off the prized ribbon even as it disappears from sight. At her caressing his thigh, he had to settle himself, reminding himself of the stage they were on. Unconcerned about Bittersteel and Bloodraven, he looks to Lord Leygood and sizes him up. Young, spirited no doubt, and by all accounts a decent rider. Still, even we're it Ser Daemon himself, there would be no backing down on his part. "It seems that we shall meet on the field to settle this, and the Seven shall reward the most faithful and deserving of my ladies honour." His emphasis on the word my leaving no doubt as to who that would be. "Perhaps my Lord might be best served riding with the favour of a woman he might wed? Lest he remain without an heir for too long. None would fault you for thinking first of your House, my Lord." Aerion tries to convince the man that he may have better luck elsewhere, and gives him an out where his reputation may not suffer. [OOC: Should I roll intrigue (Convince or Intimidate) or is it a foregone conclusion that he will accept the challenge?]

He's not going to back down from it, no.
Narrator note: You're not necessarily out of the joust if you do not win the duel for her favor. Draws in the opening rounds tends to be both proceeds. But here things will go on until there's a yield or unhorse, because a winner must be decided.

Cleyton smiled, but he hated the existence of Ser Vardis right now and while it was below him to attack his character, he could still try to appeal to Amelia to allow him to fight for her favor "Lady Amelia" Cleyton bowed slightly and nodded "I am most grateful for the honor you bestowed upon me, but I believe I'm also worthy of your favor" he smiled "Let me prove it to you by defeating Ser Vardis" CLeyton turned to look at Ser Vardis with no expression in his face, but instead cursed him from his heart. [ooc:Do not know if we still get the chivalry bonus or other bonuses to this roll, so I only added the use of 1 DP for a bonus dice on Incite. Which means nothing since orokos has challenged my challenge instead lol] Persuasion (Incite) +1DP for Bonus Dice: 4d6k3 10

[You get chivalry on it, as this is a simple intrigue. However, if you go with incite, you really do need to state the case that Ser Vardis is unworthy of her favor, also, the roll itself should be posted in the event thread]

Of all the ladies present, none took quite so long to make up her mind as Lysette Starling. Oh, she was charming as ever, laughing girlishly and walking that delicate line between confidence and humility as she spoke with each knight that came to her with warm regard and genuine gratitude. In truth, though it may not have been obvious, her plan going into it all was the same as she'd done in previous tourneys. While she would allow knights to ride in her honor, she would withhold her favor yet again. Then Aemon Flowers kissed her fingers and introduced himself, and she realized this was different. As the gorgeous knight spoke his pleasantries, Lysette racked her brain for what she knew of him. He served in House Florent, a powerful House for certain and one who's Lord was known more for his wits than his way on the jousting field. He was a bastard, but a Targaryen one. Good looking. Chivalrous. A man of respected skill, if not as stellar as the Redtusk. His political affiliations were uncertain...but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. She sensed a certain opportunity. Choosing him for her favor would be very explainable, even if she changed her mind later. Smitten by his handsome face, beguiled by his royal lineage...then if he turned out to be disagreeable, for any reason or none, she had an 'out.' She'd been a simple maiden, taken in by a figure out of a children's tale, only to discover the reality was more coarse. And in giving her favor out, Lysette could buy herself some time by making what seemed to be tangible progress towards selecting a husband. There was a little too much desperation in the move for her liking, especially after her chat with the Lady Margeary, but it would take time to put that advice to work for her, and this would give her that time. "Good sers," she addresses the knights who had come to win her over. "Every one of you is worthy of my honor, and my favor. You who ride forth to defend the Seven Kingdoms from all menaces. You who bear not only arms, but the power of our beliefs and traditions and make of them your sword and shield. In the past, when I was a girl, because I could not choose everyone...I instead chose no one. I'm not a girl any longer now though. Ser Aemon Flowers, please step forward." She beamed at him as he did so, her eyes very visibly caressing his long golden hair and his square jaws. Inwardly her performance repulsed her...the idea that anyone might think her so superficial as this...but it was important. "Please accept my favor, and take from it all the encouragement I can offer for your fortunes in the tourney." Her token was a small silk scarf, with the Starling arms on it set on blue, with white trim. It rippled in the breeze as she bestowed it on him. Then she looked at the other knights apologetically.
"It would be more honor that I could ask, should any of you choose to ride for me. Whatever your choice may be, I will celebrate your wins and take pride that the Reach and the Kingdoms can claim such men as you as their guardians. Thank you all."
Both Ser Roland Redwyne and Ser Sebaston Rowan quite convincingly lays out the case that they feel the lovely lady Lysette to be someone truly worth fighting for and hopes for a second chance to prove their valor and worth to do so. Meanwhile, Ser Simon Tarly seems angered by being passed over and starts looking around for other options, Ser Randyll Peake, much more subtly, also appears to see if some other lady might wish to give him a favor.
Lysette may now trigger a duel between Ser Aemon and one Ser Roland or Ser Sebaston for her favor if she so wishes.

Lysette listens to the knights, nodding at the appropriate intervals while reviewing the situation in her head. Letting Roland challenge was tantamount to simply choosing him in the first place of course. Aemon was a fine knight, but no match for the Red Tusk. Sebaston was closer to him, but perhaps still had an edge? More importantly, the Rowans were aligned with the King.
Ugh. While she still perhaps favored the reasoning behind her initial choice, she couldn't fault the arguments now. Still, Redwyne was simply out of the question.
A challenge between Ser Aemon and Ser Sebaston meets with her approval therefore, and she indicates that it's so.

The crowd seems quite excited by this most recent turn of events, Ser Aemon against Ser Sebaston in the first round! By far the most interesting match-up in terms of skill so early on. Lady Daena Roxton seizes the opportunity to lure Ser Roland to accept her favor instead of her other choices, which were not as much to her liking. Dismayed, Ser Franklyn Frey finds Lady Mariya Mullendore to ride for her favor instead, Ser Darren Crane opts for the favor of Lady Victaria Rhyslig and Ser Lewis Appleton gains that of Lady Gwynesse Grimm. Lady Daena, surely slighted, pretends not to notice.
Ser Randyll Peake also abandons Lady Lysette in favor of Lady Alerie Hightower, Ser Simon Tarly departs also, but with such huff and puff upon his face that most ladies doesn't so much meet his eyes..except Lady Alena, accidentally leaning forward to exchange gossip with the lady to her side in just such a way as to call his attention to her cleavage, she catches his attention with her gaze and smiles back invitingly, he trots over to ask for and receive his favor.
Ser Normyn Flowers takes his rejection well, excuses himself that he would not wish to compete with his own brother and gains the favor of Lady Ellyn Roxton instead.
Ser Willas Tyrell will ride with the favor of Leonella Crane, Ser Preston Oakheart gains that of Lady Jeyne Fossoway ahead of Ser Aladore Florent. Ser Arlan Green is granted Lady Sybelle Oakhearts ribbon, while Ser Simon Starkwood will be jousting with that of Lady Olenna Redding.
Will comb for lose ends and see if this thing can't be wrapped up.
Daena Roxton's disposition towards Darren Crane, Victaria Rhysling, Franklyn Frey, Mariya Mulledore, Lewis Appleton and Gwynesse Grimm drops with 1. Janna Hightower's disposition towards Normyn Flowers drop by 1.
