The princes rode out from a nearby holdfast up the Roseroad, less than an hour of riding from Highgarden, much of their baggage train and most of their men had already arrived yesterday to set up camp. It was out of respect for Lord Tyrell's desire to host only his own lords bannermen before the start of the tourney proper that they had spent the night as guests of one of his cousins. Except for the Northern Houses, of which only the merman of Manderly is recognized by all but the most learned in heraldry, and a rather distinct lack of a Dornish presence, almost every house of note from outside the Reach is represented in the small moving forest of banners. Dragons red and black, Lions red and gold and sleeping, Stag, Eagle, Trout, Bat, Tree, Stallion, Swan and many many others.
Ahead of the column rides Ser Tywin Lannister, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard with the banner of King Daeron the second of his name held high by his squire, then Prince Baelon and Prince Maekar, the other three brothers of the kingsguard keeping just enough distance behind them to have room to maneuver to intercept any danger. The Great Bastards next in line, Ser Daemon Waters, by most styled Ser Daemon Blackfyre chief among them, the sword of King Aegon the Conqueror proudly displayed slung across his back. Then rides lords and great knights in order of precedence. Lords Arryn and Lannister as wardens of the east and west first, Lord Hayford of the king's council and Lord Tully, Lord Paramount of the Trident second. Third in line is the heir to Storm's End.
The Procession comes to a halt as Lord Tyrell rides out to meet it in front of the tourney fields, conveniently where there is plenty of room to dismount and for onlookers to watch the arrivals. After exchanging the proper courtesies, Lord Tyrell leads the way on foot towards the sept, to accomodate the desire of Prince Baelor to be present to show his respect for the knighting ceremonies that always takes place at occasions such as these. The lords and notable knights receive bread and salt, the most prominentl directly from Lady Tyrell, the rest from servants. Many of the lords and knights of both the Reach and beyond join the procession.
MANDATORY: Please state your presence during the procession (or lack of it, because the universe will take note either way), please form secondary threads for interactions among PC's. Optional: Status (Reputation)+Chivalry/Virtue TN X, no consequence for failure. X is here NPC status*3, success allows you to draw the attention of one of the dignitaries in the procession. Special: addressing any of the Targaryens (including Great Bastards) in High Valyrian gains +2b on the test. Gain +1 to the below test for each DoS beyond the first. Success allows you to catch the attention of the dignitary for a brief moment, allowing a single simple (and very public) intrigue against same TN as the status test, outcomes depends on the general inclination of that character to react to the impression you leave, your test result and choice of technique. The royal arrival had as much pomp and circumstance as one might expect, and the grandeur of it all was breathtaking even to Lysette, who fancied herself immune to such blandishments. Yet one person caught her eye above all others, though it might have been thought an odd choice.
She made her way to the procession and managed to catch the Maester Lamprey for a moment. Perhaps his attention was granted at first for a pretty, young face...but she was familiar with his written works, and openly admiring of his work in support of the Grand Master, and before long they were chatting amiably like a scholar and disciple. Alas, too soon he had to pass on, but he'd be remembering those bright blue eyes for some to come.

As the royal procession started, Ser Aerion found himself caught up in the energy of the day. Such grand entrances by the entire royal arrival was giving his ambition a not-so-small boost. As the column dissolved from order to chaos, he was able to approach a man renowned by many and one that shared his namesake, Ser Aerion Baratheon. Aerion managed to introduce himself to the man as well as indicate that he had grown up with stories up the man's greatness without coming across as a bumbling idiot. At least he had hoped so. Still, the older man seemed to genuinely receive Ser Aerion well, and perhaps would indulge the younger's future request of friendship and teaching. Ashara was of course present, she wouldn't miss it for the world. She looks with curiosity at Prince Maekar, who she knows is married to a cousin on her mother's side that she has never met. Then her eyes land on another figure, and while she has little thought of actually catching his red-garbed gaze, she cannot help herself but try. So much is said about him, but she knows so little herself... a combination that was irresistible... And much to her surprise, Ser Daemon Waters, known as the Blackfyre, returned her gaze, and allowed her to approach. I don't really care whether or not this warmongering blowhard likes me or not, but if I can get him to talk with me, maybe I can learn what he really intends."Many speak of you, and some claim to speak for you, but there is truly only one Ser Daemon 'Blackfyre'. I am but a humble maid from a lesser house, but if you could find it in your heart to let me learn your true self, I am certain I could be of some small use to you."
I didn't expect to succeed! Royal Arrival, Blackfyre Status(Reputation) + Virtue: 4d6+3 23, vs TN 18, 2 DoS Royal Arrival, Blackfyre Charm Persuasion(Act) +2 Graceful, +2 Courteous, +1 from status test: 6d6k4+5 25

Royal Arrival - Shiera Seastar - Status (Reputation) - +2B from HV - TN15: 8d6k5+4 26 3 DoS +2 bonus to next roll Royal Arrival - Shiera Seastar - Persuasion (Charm) - TN15: 6d6k4+5 17 1 DoS The pomp and ceremony was well-done, to be sure. A pleasing distraction. But Laena would not permit herself to be distracted. She had the opportunity, for the first time, to meet a woman she'd wanted to see for a while. She might even call her something of a role model. A flicker of nervousness is quickly quashed as she sees an opportunity and seizes it. "Lady Shiera." She greets her in High Valyrian, with a curtsey. "I am your half-sister, Laena Pyre. Stories of your accomplishments have been an inspiration to me. I would very much like to know more about the person behind them."While she didn't have long, at the end of their meeting, Laena was at least hopeful she'd made a positive impression, which could hopefully be built on later.

Aladale told himself that he waited around for the royal arrival for the potential of information to be gained, but if he was honest he enjoyed these processions. It was one of the few almost child-like pleasures he allowed himself. All these respected and famous men and women arriving together. It was not that he idolized them as a child may have, these were just people like himself, with flaws and quirks, just as anyone else. But the concentration of the whole power of the Realm in such a small group fascinated him. He nodded to each of them as the procession moved along and when they began to dismount, he managed to catch the attention of Ser Walton to whom he introduced himself. Despite being Dornish, he had respect for the man's tactical acumen and used the opportunity to tell him so. Now about the rumors he had heard, he didn't say a word. Not that he believed one word of it, but that was for somebody else to tell the old master-at-arms... A Royal Arrival - TN15 Walton Wyl: 5d6k4+2 17A Royal Arrival - Charm to befriend: 7d6k5 22 - 2DoS

Standing with his back against a building near the sept. As the progression passes Ser Donnel sees an old competitor in the joust. Although annoyed at never having bested the Castamere knight, ser Donnel is an ardant admirer. "Ser Reyne! I was hoping to see you here! Let us hope we both progress to meet later on, i suspect you want a repetition of the Castamere joust before then though, eh?" Ser Donnel is refering to an event at Castamere where lots were drawn to determine who faced each other, by luck of the draw Ser Reyne managed to face several Lannisters besting them all.* Being noticed by Robb Reyne (TN 12): 5d6k3+4 18Talking to Robb Reyne (charm) (TN 12): 5d6k4 13*The castamere event is not canon, just a bit of flavor, will be changed if it doesnt fit!

Septon Abelar sternly marches to the fore of the crowd, brushing aside lesser lordlings and their servants as he goes. He needs to speak to a member of the Kingsguard. He chooses Ser Gwayne Corbray, hoping that the man's character is as sharp as his sword. "Ser Gwayne, I am Septon Abelar. If it please you, I would see you in the sept before too long. There may be danger afoot in Highgarden." Addam joined the crowd to watch as the royal party made their entrance. The knights of the king's Guard were always a sight to see with there billowing white cloaks and stern disciple, but Addam had come to see only one man. Ser Daemon stood out among the rest, just as knightly and impressive as he had been when Addam was just boy. A bit off that childhood admiration filled him now, as he fondly reminisce on the excitement he fault as he cheered for the great knight when he first saw Daemon joust all those years past. " He truly his a king," he thought to himself as the great man rode past. As the crowd started to disperse, Addam hung around hoping to catch a glimpse of the other great lords and knights in the company. One such man was Ser Robb Reyne. The redheaded knight caught Addam's stare and returned it with a simple nod of his head. Addam took the opportunity to approach the man, only having time for a brief introduction and a few curtsies before Addam had to return to his tent. He did, after all, have his own parade to prepare for.

Malcolm watched from the crowd as the Princes and their party entered and were received by the Lord of Highgarden. How could anyone witness this glory and still doubt the grandeur and the godly favour House Targaryen without a doubt commanded ? He didn't make much of an effort to stick out and wasn't too sure whether he should approach one of the Lords or Knights in the procession. In the end, he decided against that for now and watched the ceremony unfold.

Otho Bracken's Attention TN 12: 3d6k3+2 11 Fail_________________________________________________________ Ser Balon stood among the crowd, his hangover and anger gone after a few good morning sparring sessions. As the procession came into view Balon scanned the riders. He didn't care much to see the Targaryen princes, nor Bloodraven and the other Blackwood bastards. He admired the Kingsguard though his thoughts on them soured as he reminded himself of how Redtusk and Fireball had been passed over for lesser knights. When he saw Ser Daemon Blackfyre he stared. It was like looking at Aegon the Conqueror reborn. Daemon was the epitome of the chivalrous knight. How do people not see his should be king? Balon considered calling out to him but he knew it better not to considering what he'd said last night about Walton Wyl. As the procession dismounted Balon moved to try and draw the attention of Otho Bracken. Known for his ferocity and his support of Daemon Blackfyre, he was a knight Balon wanted to befriend. Unfortunately for Balon it seemed Otho was is no mood to talk as he blew past Balon, barely sparing him a second look. Well shit.Balon's disappointment was short-lived as he saw another heading his way. None other than the Master at Arms of the Red Keep, Ser Walton Wyl. Balon had no desire to back down from the comments he'd made last night and in an act of defiance he stood straight, crossed his arms over his chest, sneered, and spat on the ground when Ser Walton was near. Father; you wanted to know if I'd show my face. Here it is.

Post by Roland Cordwayner on Jul 9, 2018 14:43:34 GMT 1
Roland rode at the back of the procession in marvel - even when he had taken the field against the Dornish the realm had not mustered such a concentration of knightly virtue as it did here. What could the Realm have achieved by force of arms, had it been truly united?Dismounting after the procession and having already taken bread and salt he was able to exchange a few words with Ser Wyl Waynwood, by reputation the finest knight in the vale. The Andal lines were strong in the Vale, and Roland enjoyed what few words he was able to swap with the famous knight, attempting to build a rapport in comparisons between fighting the Dornish and the mountain clans that plagued the Vale. Still, at least the sword arms of the men of the Vale would remain strong, rather than atrophy due to peace and neglect. Best to leave such thoughts unsaid in such a public setting, lest they be taken for political commentary in an environment that was already heating up. He had few kind words for Dornish warriors, but given the polite company fixated on the one Dornish element he'd found capable of demonstrating knightly qualities. "Ser Wyl," he said. "We have peace now, the Seven be thanked, but I can but hope that Reach swords and lances tried against the noble knights of Starfall prove equal to the Vale's valour built protecting the Kingdoms against the Mountain clans." Post by Mikel of Harroway on Jul 10, 2018 18:51:26 GMT 1
Mikel arrived to watch the procession from a position close enough to see it but not close enough to be stuck in the crowd. As the Lord Commander of the kingsguard led the procession he studied the man. The man who led some of the most skilled Knights in all of Westeros to always protect the King and royal family would be a man worth sitting down with. Not even to have a conversation with per say, just to sit and listen to. Maybe I'll get chance, Mikel thought to himself. But if he did it would not be because of anything he did here now. He was only here to watch the procession ride in and study the banners.

Post by Daeron Wildfyre on Jul 11, 2018 17:50:57 GMT 1
Having made his way to the front of the crowd Daeron's heart swelled with excitement as he saw the knightly procession. Even as he saw Princes Maekar and Baelor he couldn't help but think, "How could such a soft father produce two sons so knightly?" However, his brief charm with the princes was dispelled when his half-brother, Daemon Blackfyre, and the rest of the Great Bastards rode by. His attraction towards his kin was almost magnetic, especially when he laid his eyes on the bewitching Seastar, but he still couldn't keep his eyes off of Daemon and Blackfyre, the true symbol of Targaryen kingship. Uninterested at this point in any of the other impressive individuals in the procession, Daeron sought out his attention with the hope of convincing him to meet at some point during the tourney. The royal arrival is as a beautiful and colorful procession that Cleyton will remember as it invigorates him and reaffirms his choice of being a knight was the right one. This procession is not just about the looks of it, but the attendants are looking at everyone when Cleyton finds one of the top contenders for the joust and hopes to approach him, but before he recovers from the grandeur of it all the time to join it or approach someone is a long lost opportunity and just continues to watch it unfold.
