There is only the odd stray strand of red in Ser Quentyn's otherwise gray hair to hint to the color that was half the reason for the moniker of Fireball, his proneness to fits of rage that makes up the other half of it seems to have been etched onto his face with the passage of time, adding to it is how he has cropped his beard to give a skull-like appearance, heightening the sense of danger emanating from his eyes. "Ser Daeron, was it?" His greet is short and to the point. [Given that Day 2 is just around the corner, I don't think we can do much more than a simple introduction.]

Daeron, emulating Fireball's laconic greeting was himself short and brief.
"Aye Ser, Daeron Waters. I believe you know my brother, Daemon. Unfortunately I am not familiar with my own kin, but I believe that knowing the men he surrounds himself with is a good source of insight into him."

"If that is your preference, ser." Mostly, it was the impolite ones that would address him using the bastard surname. "But if I might be allowed to ask the difficult questions first, ser, what would your opinion of the man presently seated upon the Iron Throne?"

Daeron doesn’t hesitate before glibly responding to both Fireball’s statement and his question, “The words no longer hurt me, I know who I am, and I’d rather be the legitmate natural son of a king than the bastard of a prince.”

"Spoken like a true dragon, ser" Fireball notes with the faintest hint of approval. "So what would you like to know?"

"I wish to know what so brings you to my brother's side. Climbers and lesser men with little to lose need no explanation as to why they might attach themselves to a rising star, but I am always more interested in learning why proper and powerful individuals are willing to risk everything, even when their cause is just.
I don't need my answers now, for I know that I shall see plenty more of you in the days to come."
It is clear from his tone that Daeron isn't accusing Fireball of being mercenary or unchivalrous, but that he is legitimately interested in learning more about his motivations.
[Also I just figured out the reference behind the name of this thread!]

"I believe in justice and honor ser, I believe that any knight not willing to shield those concepts with his life if need be is no knight." Fireball states gravely. "Though I would be lying if I hid that part of what drives me is the injustice done to myself, I was ready to serve the king, to take my oaths of absolute loyalty to him. And he spat on me and his father's promises."

Daeron permits himself to crack a smile as he is legitimately happy to hear Ser Quentyn's response.
"I appreciate your honesty Ser and I imagine that the man on the throne would have made an excellent scholar, but we're both men who serve kings, not maesters."
He offers his hand out to Fireball before finishing,
"I hope that we see more of one another Ser, and soon."
