The Hightowers lays claim to all the lands from the headwaters of the Honeywine to the north, the Red Mountains in the east, the Summer Sea to the south and the Sunset Sea to the west. Although Florent and Tarly would have some disagreements and bitter distant history over how Oldtown asserted this claim, it is a largely accurate depiction of the domains held by The Hightowers or their vassals.
To approach Oldtown, the sea is often the faster route, and The Mander is wide and deep enough that seagoing vessels may travel all the way to Highgarden, but most nobles prefer to ride down the Roseroad instead. Perhaps prudent given the long history of Ironborn raids along the coast, and the brewing troubles are likely to tempt the reavers to hit shores closer to home than to sail past Dorne to raid without breaking the king's peace. The Greyjoys and their Iron Fleet is unlikely to stir until open civil war is upon the realms, but any of the hundreds of independent captains could be bold enough to attempt to capture a prized ransom in times such as these.
Notable bannermen:
-Beesbury of Honeyholt, near the sources of The Honeywine and neighbor and once vassal of Brightwater Keep.
-Mullendore of Uplands, halfway between Oldtown and The Red Mountains.
-Daverhyl of Mustard Hall, between Oldtown and Honeyholt.
-Cuy of Sunhouse, South East of Oldtown, on the Arbor Strait, the southernmost tip of mainland Reach.
-Costayne of Three Towers, on the southern tip of the Whispering Sound.
-Bulwer of Blackcrown, on the northern tip of the Whispering Sound.
-Blackbar of Bandallon, due west of Brightwater Keep, the northernmost vassal of Higthower, and another once snatched from House Florent.
