There are those who had hoped that the little imp had been locked up in Highgarden's dungeons, or burned at the stake, or at the very least been forbidden to come along for the wedding. But think of all the guests!? Weddings are after all, one long bore while everyone is drinking and waiting for the bride and groom to be stripped naked for their amusement, a fortnight is a long wait for just a minute, even with bride and groom both young and good looking, longer still if one counts the travel times. And someone has to keep the venerable Lady Margaery amused on the road, or maybe someone knows exactly which Tyrell that truly rules and therefore can do as he pleases as long as that one is pleased?
However it has come to pass that Butterbumps the one and only arrives to Oldtown in leisurely repose on the seat next to the driver of Lady Margaery's wheelhouse, throwing kisses and improper advances to ladies and maidens alike, there can be no doubt that his coming heralds many interesting provocations in the days to come. Or perhaps, seven forbid, a reprehensible act of dwarf-tossing, followed by frantic flailing and subsequent tragic drowning in the Honeywine.
NPC participation: Nominations possible, but with the caveat that the NPC must have an idea, meaning that a nomination without also suggesting what the NPC might be up to is likely leading nowhere, you might also nominate an idea without necessarily tying it to an NPC (though other PC's should then feel free to steal them).
A selection of NPC's with the right inclinations to possibly partake:
-Mya Rivers, Shiera Waters, Margaery Tyrell, Alicent Yronwood, Reynald Florent, Aemon Flowers, Janna Hightower, Falyse Blackbar, Farman Flowers, Ysilla Flowers, Marq Durwell, Daena Flowers, Lothor Mullendore, Delia Blackbriar, Allyria Starkwood, Alena Flowers, Jeyne Cuy, Lysette Starling.
-Those with secrets to share from a Vintage Year are more likely to use them, particularly of the less prominent ones (saves up narrator bandwith by tying up any lose ends).
Gain an audience with the Lord of The Low Gardens:
Simple Intrigue (Taunt) TN 9.
-Each DoS allows you to make one bargain attempt.
-For each failed self-control test compelling you to use a bargain attempt in a specific way, gain +1D to this test.
Tribute to the King of Fools
The following are optional, you may do each once.
You may seek out salacious gossip for him to add to his repertoire:
Knowledge (Streetwise) TN 9
-Test Chance TN 13, gain +3 to this test per DoS scored on streetwise.
-Gain +1 boon point per DoS on the chance test.
-Critical failure on streetwise: Learn something shocking that seems very true, gain up to +3 boon points if Butterbumps manages to trick you into acting on it, depending on the potential for drama and personal detriment.
You may offer things you already know:
-If you know of a random rumor which is yet to turn public, you may offer it to him. It's worth (between +1 and +4 boon points) depends on it's shock value.
-If you have unused information that can extract a lesser favor from someone, you may trade it in for +4 points (this "uses" up the favor, it also does not stack with any rumor it may be tied to).
You may offer to partake in his antics:
-Deception (Act) TN 9
-Gain +1 points per DoS.
-This generally will require you to be involved in behavior which is not exactly considered proper, and will likely cause negative rumors with you as the target.
-This will likely make you be featured once Butterbumps is let lose on Oldtown in future IC threads.
You may offer him favors:
-A lesser favor is worth +4 points. (max 3)
-A major favor is worth +12 points. (max 1)
Ask for Boons.
All tests uses simple intrigue (Bargain), you may sacrifice attempts to gain extra time bonuses. Each bargain has an associated boon point cost. If something appeals greatly to the whims of the dwarf, the bargain attempt is an automatic success with no boon points required.
Royal Interests TN 9, 1 point.
-Butterbumps will make public any existing rumor of your choice with his distinct sense of bravado.
The King says.... TN 12, 1 point.
-Direct Butterbumps to target someone with his friendly antics that are likely to take it in good spirits (such as Mya Rivers or Marq Durwell).
Royal disfavor TN 12, 3 points.
-Direct Butterbumps to target someone with his "friendly" antics that are unlikely to view them as such (Such as Eldon, Walgrave or Daeron)
Browsing the Royal Library TN 12, 3 points.
-Attempt to make Butterbumps reveal information that might interest you, whether general or more specific. Ordinarily he will prefer to facilitate drama by revealing things appealing to petty and personal motivations over giving up anything that might shift the balance between the powers that be. Although it is also possible that he has a specific agenda in mind.
Majestic Wrath TN 12 or intrigue defense of target whichever is higher, a number of points equal to status of target, +1 if noble, +3 if from a principal house or higher.
-Attempt to make Butterbumps make a public rumor intended to influence a character or opinions about a character.
Butterbumps will never agree to target any Targaryens (Great Bastards other than Blackfyre and Bloodraven are fair game), Hightowers or Tyrells with "offensive" acts, he will also typically decline to play a part in any power struggles, anything concerning the regency and faction points is out of the question.
Consideration for qualities
Vindictive: Attempts to compel targeting someone on the trigger list with an "aggressive" act.
