***The duel is open for reactions from those at the Crakehall Tourney***
Crakehall had not gone according to plan for Balon. There were many excuses he could use for his poor jousting performance. He was a soldier not a prancing tourney knight. Without allies in "enemy territory" he'd been on edge and unfocused. Without the favor of a lady he was destined to lose. Regardless the whole reason he'd come to this Seven-foresaken castle had finally arrived. His duel with Ser Robyn. The challenge accepted at Appleton had been put off as the little pup recovered from his wounds suffered at the hands of Ser Normyn. Balon wanted to make sure there weren't any excuses available to Robyn should he lose.
The rules for the duel had been agreed upon beforehand. As much as he'd love to see Robyn dead, this was about forcing a repudiation of his slander and if possible, publicly humiliating him. He sat atop his blood bay destrier Beast. The horse was in plate barding with a caparison in Balon's own personal colors. As always he wore his golden armor, polished to a high sheen. The horns on his visored barbute helmet were black much like his reputation. His squire stood to the side, awaiting the signal to give Balon his lance. An arming rack of assorted weapons was behind the squire in case Balon had need of something other than a sword. Perhaps a maul to bash his head in like Desmond.

Robyn, sitting atop his destrier he called Vhagar in private for fear of others letting it slip the boy knight longed to be a dragon rider, stared across at Balon with a furrowed brow and a curled lip. The Appleton Fiasco had garnered him two large enemies, both of whom he had hoped he would never have the displeasure of seeing again. Lord Walgrave, for one, seemed to have a dislike for all in Robyn's family, probably because the Lord lacked any morality or sense of justice due to his position and wealth. A relic that fought in an escapade that no longer reflected the current King's aspirations, but had garnered him quite the flock of flat-headed pieons that would do whatever he asked-
Well... maybe they werent all flat-headed, as Wildfyre was amongst them... But certainly brainwashed by gold and promises of favors that a lord could grant and give as he pleased.
Balon, on the other hand, had a dislike for all in Robyn's family because he was a racist swine. Why was he at Crakehall? Wasnt there the other tourney that he could have gone to, and not darkened the otherwise lovely celebration with his presence? Did he only come here to fulfil the duel that was promised all those moons ago? If that was the case, well, then Robyn would be touched if he wasnt so nauseated at the sight.
The grip Robyn held to the reigns sinched as he glowered with a grin, calling out to Balon,
"You must forgive me, perhaps the milk of the poppy affected my memory, but why are we dueling again?"

Balon's reply was curt. "Don't play stupid with me, boy!" It would've been hard to see at a distance but as Balon reached for his lance his gauntlet was shaking from the rage coursing through his body. I must break him. I must humiliate him. All must remember this. He took the tourney lance from his squire Harold and moved his horse into position. Beast stomped his hoof into the ground, the destrier clearly in tune with his master's sour mood.
A horn blared to signal the start and Balon spurred his horse on.

Rolling his eyes, he swiftly attached his helm as his gauntlet reached down for the lance, snatching it up before rushing forward. He took a riskier approach, that was for sure, but there wasnt much of a chance for victory if he didnt unhorse him in the first pass.
PR: 17 (20) AR: 11 (13 for Ride) Health: 12/12 I/W/F: 0/0/0 Does Shield Master really increase Passive Ride? That is wild if it does, just clarifying. Super good, and definitely beats out Tourney Knight WaMTW: Lances Talented+A3+HiS & SiS & CyB: 6d6k3+11 29 7d6k4-1 17 4d6 10

Balon had seen Robyn joust and knew he was good. Not great, but good. He'd also seen him wield a sword and in Balon's opinion Robyn was considerably weaker in that regard. So Balon decided to do what Ser Aubrey' had done against him when they dueled at Whitewalls. He simply needed to survive the first pass. Shield up and legs tight against Beast, Balon ensured he wouldn't go down. The blow Robyn had landed was solid but not nearly enough to end the duel. Whirling around, Balon drew his sword and engaged. Robyn had underestimated Balon in these moments as the blackguard took a more defensive approach against his strike. Given everything Redwolf anticipated, he thought for certain that Balon would take any opportunity to hit harder, going for something brutal from his first strike. Considering that wasnt the case, Robyn feared what could be coming next... Inhaling deep, he narrowed his gaze as he wheeled around to face down the fast approaching dishonorable knight.
Looks like it should be 8 damage for the lance (Animal Handling 4 + 1 + Strength of Horse 3) or something like 4 actual damage to Balon. WaMTW: Initiative: 3d6-2 8 He aint the fastest WaMTW: Not Afraid of You: 5d6k3 13 Getting a small bonus Wielding his secondary rather than a Longsword, a Superior Ball and Chain CD: 16 (13) Health: 12/12 Armor: 11 I/W/F: 0/0/0

*** Looks like we both took 4 points of damage after the jousting pass. Your damage is ANH + 1 + 3 (Horse Strength) + 2 (Charging) = 10. 2 DoS for 20 - 12 AR = 8 - 4 (from Balon's CYB) for a grand total of 4 HP. My damage with a lance is the same. So 2 DoS for 20 - 13 AR = 7 - 3 (from Robyn's CYB) for another grand total of 4 HP.*** WAMTW, vs. Robyn, Round 1, Maneuver: 8d6k5+2 26
***How Maneuver works with LBF II if I get 1 DoS vs. your passive Fighting I get +5 Damage. With 2 DoS I get +5 damage and -1D on all your actions for 1 turn. IF You have Fighting 4, Bludgeon 2b, Talented, Superior, your Passive Fighting is 20 (16+2+1+1) meaning your rolls will have -1D on your turn. WAMTW, vs. Robyn, Round 1, Standard Attack: 8d6k5+2 32, well... this is just not your day. ***I'm not sure where 16 CD came from but regardless that's 4 DoS. So 4 DoS x 6 damage = 24 + 5 from LBF II = 29 - 11 AR for 18 Damage. If I did everything correctly, and anyone reading this feel free to point out my mistakes, Robyn is at -10/12 HP before taking injuries/wounds, and -1D for his turn. Balon will use a point of fatigue to ignore AP ________________________________ Duel Stats Passive Ride: 21 (ANH 4, Ride 2b, Superior Destrier +1, Shield Mastery +2, Large Shield +4, -4 ) Passive Fighting: 24 (FTG 5, Long Blades 3b, Superior Longsword +1) Lance: 6d6k4+5 (Lances 2b, -1D Charge, -1b training penalty, ANH +4, Superior Mount +1) CD: 14 AR: 10 (12 for joust) HP: 8/12 F/I/W: 1/0/0, Tough
