After having thumped Ser Norren's shield and proclaimed that the blackguard had insults to answer for, Lord Willem seems to have both gained confidence and momentum in face of his opponent, but enraging the one-eyed knight may not be particularly wise. Brave, Valiant, Noble and Honorable Lore Willem may be, but wise was rarely a complement used when describing his qualities. Regardless, just the one tilt is needed to settle the matter and utterly humiliate Ser Norren, who not only prove himself a thuggish brute by directing his lance at Lord Starling's groin, with maybe just an inch to spare before it might have ended his participation in the tourney, perhaps even more than that. It is fortunate then, that Lord Willem is an accomplished jouster able to protect himself. And with all the openings Ser Norren offers, he has little trouble unhorsing his opponent. Perhaps it would have been better to simply have him thrown off his steed, but pride demands of Lord Starling to make it happen in the most spectacular fashion, making Ser Norren twist out of his saddle like a hanged man in a hurricane with a strike that should not succeed because it is so easy to defend against, and yet, with enough precision, even accomplished knights can be made to look like green squires. Such humiliation seems appropriate and well deserved, but invisible behind his greathelm is the burning rage and hatred in the eyes of Ser Norren that Willem just has kindled. From the moment that he struck Ser Norren's shield until the blackguard was safely in the mud, Daeron couldn't help but exchange nervous glances with Lady Lysette and the other Companions in attendance. This would be Lord Willem's best opportunity to defeat one of the Merryweather thugs, but even in a joust it was not without risk.
However, from the moment that Norren hit the ground until he went to bed that night Wildfyre had what could best be described as a shit-eating grin on his face. The risks that he took at Greenholt and Lady Lysette's machinations appeared to finally pay off as Lord Willem settled the score and (hopefully) put an end to this stage of the Merryweather-Starling conflict.
Once again chivalry and valor has triumphed over brutishness and underhanded methods, he thought to himself without the slightest hint of irony. He hoped that this very public victory would make Lord Piggy rethink the wisdom in going after a hardened target like House Starling and set his sights on an easier mark.
+1 disposition to Lord Willem for being a badass and publicly defeating a dangerous foe

Roland was not present, but enjoyed the tale when it reached his ears. A triumph of a noble knight over a blackgaurd was to be treasured, especially done in such style! But Daeron's warning to Roland at Kingsbridge nagged at him too, as knights whose judgement Roland trusted in such matters noted how Norren's lance had been aimed.
Even with the one eye Roland had left him with, Norren was not such a poor knight as that, as unworthy he was as he was of the title.
[OOC: more disposition to Lord Willem! Less disposition to Norren, if that's even possible...]

The second Blackguard of Longtable present wastes no time in seeking out the captain of the companions to insult and provoke a challenge from him, utilizing the same wicked style as Ser Norren, but seasoned Ser Vardis is wise to such low tactics and counters expertly with his shield, on the second pass, he takes advantage of his foe overextending himself to unhorse his fearsome and arguably more skilled foe. Whatever The Swine had in mind to accomplish here, The Warrior appears to have taken the side of House Starling. Lord Alliser smiles as the parchment crosses his table. It is good that Longtable and the starlings exhaust each other. Better to push away Lord Eldon and house Longtable from the fire cause. If Lord Eldon feels desperate he is more likely to make a mistake. If Lord Eldons iron first shatters then there will be strong knights of colorful character looking to find a new home"
