A melee was a chance to test yourself against those you hoped never to raise a sword against in anger. Here stood two valiant foes in Ser Mikel and Ser Preston, men he thought of as friends. With a salute, Roland sprang in to action with a swiftness unusual in a man of his size, let alone one fully armoured. [OOC: in Mikel's absence, could say he and Aubrey knock each other out leaving Roland v Preston?]

Health: 10/24 CD: 14 AR: 11 [P4] Clash of Comrades Initiative: 4D6-2 = [4, 2, 6, 2]-2 = 12
Somehow Mikel and Ser Preston had ended up together and found themselves across from Ser Roland and Ser Aubrey. His last clash with Owen Roxton hadn't left him feeling better, and against these two Mikel understood very well that his time in the melee might be nearing an end. Despite that, he was honored to find himself facing his friend. [OOC: I saw that I had rolled for CYB and Pick your Foes in the melee thread so had not rerolled them here - I know I was to reroll Pick your Foes but since I've been picked I thought it was no longer needed]

Preston and Roland had already struck up a friendship, similarity in character overcoming the bad blood between Roland and Ser Preston's influential father. But in the melee they were rivals, and Roland did not hold back. "WARRIOR GUIDE MY HAND!" he bellowed as he charged, and any who saw the blow would well believe the Warrior was indeed with Roland. Charge Preston (Pious): 11d6k5+3 318x4 = 32-10 = 22 Damage CD: 13 AR: 11 Health: 10/12 [Take Fatigue if Reckless attack used or anything else wacky to make his response more dangerous, but hopefully that's enough to defeat Preston or at least make him yield!]

No wacky recklessness, no. Preston is simply defeated.

Ser Aubrey does not perhaps, hit the hardest, but his cut is expertly placed.
Aubrey CD: 15 (14) AR: 11 Health: 10/12 Maneuver+Attack (LBF I+II, -1b): 8d6k5+3 24 8d6k5+3 31Hmm, does Mikel still use the Bastard sword as vs Roxton? Actually, that doesn't matter because TN is at least 25, so it's a 4 DoS for 24-11=13 damage.

Health: 1/24 CD: 14 (9) AR: 11 I/W/F: 1/0/0 *-1D for being maneuvered* *-1 per injury* Something had turned in the course of the melee, likely it was the depth of skill which remained on the field and that the hits Mikel had taken were catching up to him. When Ser Aubrey landed his blow Mikel knew that his situation was just as desperate - if not more - than it had been with his last opponent. Understanding came to him in just a fraction of a second that he was only like to get one chance, so put everything he had left into the blow and hoped to see Ser Aubrey tumble from his horse, or at least lead his horse off the field. [P4 Melee v. Aubrey R1] Aim + Reckless Attack (+1 talented, +1 Superior BS, -1 Injury): 9d6k5+1 263 DoS 6 x 3 = 18 - 11 = 7 damage

Mikel is not maneuvered actually, not sure if that would change his choices?

He'd do the same thing, just with an extra D. This a reroll or an add 1D?

If you did it correctly the first time, you'd just keep one more die of those you rolled since -1D is minus one kept die, you would still roll it.
