Out of all of the notables at Harrenhaal, none were so intimidating as Lord Alekyne Tarly. He was a powerful, respected lord who not only wielded a Valyrian sword, but was also a proven commander in battle. He also had yet to declare a side in the simmering conflict between King Daeron and Ser Daemon, but his hardened levies and experience on the battlefield could be the deciding factor in who might be king someday. He was also someone whom Daeron had never truly interacted with, the closest being publically beating his second son in a duel over Lady Laena's honor, so it was with much trepidation that he approached the man and announced himself. Daeron at first only reaches as far as Lord Tarly's gatekeeper, a man seemingly chosen for his imposing physique and humorless demeanor. It would appear that the Lord of Horn Hill only have time for business important enough to require his attention and little else.

Daeron had cut down a dozen imposing and humorless men during his campaign in the Riverlands, even with his arm still in a sling from the absolute thrashing that the Roughneck had given him he did not shrink away from the gatekeeper.
"Tell your master that Ser Daeron Wildfyre wishes to speak to him concerning his son's fate and future. I imagine that he would very much like to hear my idea."
For the first time in a while Daeron had a sensible idea, one that would likely solve several problems at once should it be well-received.

It takes quite a while for Lord Tarly to have a spare moment, he does not seem the type to intentionally keep a knight waiting just to demonstrate his power, but the man is an unknown factor, holding himself outside of all the scheming and squabbling of his peers.
He looks at Daeron expectantly as the Great Bastard is shown in to what appears to be a makeshift office of sorts, as if has decided to bring all the ledgers along with him for review while his mere presence suffices as a reminder of the power he could put behind his wrath.

Stepping into his domain, Daeron did as his sister would and attempted to quickly assess the situation and the man and adjusted his approach appropriately. He knew that the man before him was a Tarly, so ill-humored, curt, and favored directness, so Daeron would have to be honest and blunt with him rather than attempting to ensnare him with honeyed words.
"Thank you for receiving me here my lord. I've come here to speak to you about your son, Ser Simon." He gave a soft cough, suddenly doubting if honestly would in fact be the best policy now that the words were coming out of his mouth. "To speak honestly on the matter he has made many enemies here in the Riverlands, perhaps even more than he has made back in the Reach. These enemies are powerful, are on both sides of this pocket war, and should he escape punishment here at Harrenhaal I doubt that they would simply forgive and forget."
"I hope I'm not being too presumptive in suggesting this, but perhaps he would be well-served with a good marriage in the North or the Vale?" Somewhere beyond the reach of the gelding knife, romantic knights, or me next time he decides to cross my family.

"I shall take it under advisement, ser, was there anything else?"
To Daeron, that almost sounds like a rehearsed rejection from a man whose thoughts are already back on the contents of his scrolls.

"That is all I wished to convey. I truly hope that you do consider my advice my lord. Speaking from experience, a fresh start can do a lot of good."

"Very well, good day, ser"
Lord Tarly wastes no time cutting the meeting short when there is no more to say.
Lord Tarly quits the intrigue. -1 Disposition towards Daeron for interrupting his day with things he will not consider.

He gives a curt bow as he exits backwards out of the room.
Convincing him to exile his rogue progeny did not go as well as I expected. That's what I get for taking the open and honest approach. Next time I'll try to be more obsequious.
