A glorious day, with another verse due to be added to the song of Roland! The younger knight had enjoyed the better of things in their recent clashes with both sword and lance, but he knew deep down that his dear friend was still one of the few knights better at the tilt than he was.
Still, good tactics and good fortune had seen him prevail in the past, and may-hap the same would come to pass once more?

Redtusk bears down on his namesake with near perfect form for the first tilt.
PR: 22 AR: 11 (13 vs direct charge). Health: 12 Redtusk N+EF: 7d6k4+10 33 7d6k4+2 22 6d6k4 16So that looks like 3 DoS for TN 21 stay in saddle and 3*10-13=17 damage to me? 4 DoS (37) required to unseat Redtusk. Maybe eyes fixed is not always the best of ideas, Roland will probably hurt him back.

Warrior guide my hand. With a prayer to his patron among the Seven that are One, Roland kicked his warhorse in to a charge. Roland slammed in to Redtusk, the match making up for its brevity with the sheer prowess on show. Redtusk's near perfect form was not good enough on that day against the younger knight's perfect form. As in their previous tilts and sparring with swords, Roland's aggression paid off despite the poor odds. However, aggression is not without its cost, as the Realm was learning to its sorrow in courts, battlefields and back alleys. Roland was no maester, but he was nigh certain his ribs would be black and blue tomorrow morning. And Redtusk had not turned his head from a sickening blow and had slammed to the ground with the full weight of a champion's lance. Half drunk on victory and the other half drunk on milk of the poppy for his existing wounds, Roland was faced with a final dangerous challenge: who to name as queen of love and beauty in these dangerous times. Narrator - potential tragic consequences for Roland's best friend or just taking a wound? Would mark an earlier than expected end and dramatic, tragic end to the Song of Roland. Or a severe injury/wound taking their friendship/rivalry in a different direction. Or just defeat and move on? some cool potential here given what has gone before and Roland's investment in raising Redtusk's disposition. Queen of love and beauty: I think we'd established Alicent Yronwood isn't here in other events, as then Roland would just name her queen of love and beauty? Some political and personal gains/mistakes to potentially be made here with the choice, depending on who is present. Alysanne - we could do a flashback and give Roland and you some backstory if you want to enter with a political bang as a potential choice here? Fellow PCs, cool story ideas welcome.]

Queen of Love and Beauty in absentia is rather unorthodox, there's no Appleton sister/daughter (which would have been the easy way out), so it's up to Roland to figure it out, wouldn't be unheard of to claim that he cannot chose given the circumstances, if situation was reversed, Redtusk would likely have crowned Alicent for the giggle (had she been present and Redtusk carried the favor of an absentee), but most others probably wouldn't go for that sort of stunt.

[OOC: thanks.
Roland has been played as a conservative so far: he's the virtues Westeros esteems, not those of a modern audience. A bit like Barristan serving the mad king, albeit not such a poor liege!
Glad the "safe" Appleton option isn't available otherwise it would probably have been in character to take the orthodox/proper route. Albeit injuries and milk of the poppy give me a bit of narrative freedom.
Will see if I can cook up something cool via Alysanne for her to enter the narrative with a bang, or perhaps a flashback with Laena pulling some strings if Alysanne and I can't cook something up?
Otherwise I'll try to look for an interesting/controversial option for drama!]

The crowd cheers, but not so loudly as they might have done for a truly fine match of many, many tilts. A mighty clash of growing legends ending all too sudden is a little disappointing.
Redtusk is gracious in defeat, but already looking forward to a rematch.
I keep regretting killing off Karl Willum's entertainment potential, so no, Redtusk takes a wound to avoid such unpleasantries.

Relieved when the maesters signaled his friend was okay, Roland swayed a little in his saddle, suddenly beginning to feel the effects of his bruised ribs and the milk of the poppy he'd been dosed with following his bout with Aemon Flowers. Thank the Seven I have not slain another friend by mishap. Lord Willum was taken from the Realm too soon. A lord like that would have helped keep us together in these hateful times.
"The Realm's most beautiful Flowers deserve the eyes of the Reach, that they might find a match worth of their beauty and grace."
He didn't think he slurred the words too badly and nor did his lance shake as he offered the crown for the Queen of Love and Beauty to Alysanne Flowers.
After all, he'd borne worse hurt in the Dornish Marches.
And in the mud against that fiend Rennifer Waters at Highgarden. His thoughts flashed back to his betrothed, sadly absent from this tourney else he'd have worn her favour and won it for her. Still, he'd won more notable tourney for her already, and won her hand in marriage by freeing her from Lord Merryweather by risking his body in that fateful duel at Highgarden.
[OOC: Redtusk's good health saves me all of the hard work I've put in to raising his disposition! Your lost Lord Willum is my lost work in to raising his disposition.
Alysanne and I have a scene that I've just kicked off, but I wanted to get things going here in case some public prominence helped sparks scenes reacting to this for Alysanne with other PCs/NPCs.]
