"A duel of honor grants the right to ransom, ser" Aubrey shakes his head. "And even in battle, one does not lay claim to the sword of one's noble prisoners."
For defeating Dennis: +2 Glory, +1b to commanding presence test in subsequent event.
Other effects: -2 Disposition with Hightowers because it's *their* champion, accident or not (mostly just moves them back to indifferent).
I would say Avaracious might offer an incentive for breaking off the intrigue. Should be noted that "stopping Daeron" does not necessarily mean combat, but obviously will create a scene that won't be beneficial to the Bracken/Fire cause.
Aubrey Ambrose:
Objective (convince): Make Daeron do the honorable thing and return the sword now.
ID: 16
DR: 2 (reduced by 2 by intrigue action)
Composure: 11
Intrigue Iniative, Breeding: 2#6d6k4+2 16 20
Daeron goes first, Breeding probably affects his DR as if it is from +2 disposition (1 DoS).
Just so the consequences are on the table and Daeron could chose to figure it's not worth it:
Use the sword and then return it (does not stack with the above):
-1 Chivalry
Dennis gains +1 Blood point (because it hurts the image of the pretender side being the chivalrous types).
-5 Disposition from Hightowers (and as hosts they will be able to put Daeron through a long string of inconveniences in chronicle 2).
-5 Disposition with Aubrey.
-2 Disposition with special NPC's taking knightly honor seriously.
Lose the sword (does not stack with the above):
-3 Chivalry
-7 Disposition with the Hightowers
-3 Disposition with special NPC's taking knightly honor seriously.
-Dennis gains +3 Blood
Claim it for yourself (does not stack with the above):
-10 Chivalry
-9 Disposition with the Hightowers (and they will actively work to get it back with little concern for what might happen to Daeron in the process)
-5 Disposition with special NPC's taking knightly honor seriously (and presumably be released from Lord Starling's service)
-Dennis gains +5 Blood
